Good Orbit sander, does an excellent job.

Bought this to sand a freshly plastered wall. The wall had lots of lumps and bumps after the self plastering experience but this little guy made light weight of the task. It has a little dust bag on the back that collects the dust and does a good job. It’s powerful for it size comfortable to use and sands well. It does vibrate a lot and gives you a funny feel in your hands afterwards but I think they all might do. Lots of small bursts. Ensure you buy dust mask and eye protection

This is a high quality product , from a very well known German Brand. I will review it step by step to make it clear if it will be useful for you or not. Origin: 5/5, I like the fact that it's not a chinese made product but it's made in Hungary. To be honest, I can understand that for this price range, it is very difficult for companies to manufacture in UK or Germany for example, so I think Hungary is a fair choice as opposed to other brands that manufacture in China. Quality : 5/5 , it is very rigid and made using high quality materials. Holding it, it is very Hefty and solid. It also has a rubberized grip which I liked. Trust the quality. Price: 5/5 , I got it for a very good price because it had an extra price discount. No scam here, it is worth more than what I paid. Usability : 4/5, the reason I gave this a 4 is because it doesn't have a speed control. So you always have to work with full throttle. I tried to first use it for a small block of wood. It ended up sanding alot of the wood. So I would only recommend this for big flat surfaces. Extras: 5/5, I like the fact that it has a vaccum port , which can suck alot of the dust ( Too much dust is not good for your respiratory system ). But make sure you buy the sanding sheets with the holes to take full advantage of this feature. Overall : I think if you could spend a bit more for the more advanced sander from Bosch, then it would be better in many aspects. Unless you need it for big flat surface only, then you're good to go with this. This is the only reason I removed 1 star. ****

I bought this principally to do sanding on some kitchen cutting boards I was making. I have a selection of Bosch tools already and when I spotted this on offer, it was a quick decision. Despite what another review says, this DOES have a soft start. That means you can place it on the material being sanded and then turn it on. Much better than turning it on and then placing it on the material as this offer a real risk of immediate jumping and swirl marks. You just need to let it do it's job. Don't apply any more pressure than is necessary to stop it wandering around, take it slow and easy and, if sanding wood, work along the grain. The risk of trying to hurry things and / or applying too much downward pressure is the dreaded swirl marks that are then a real pain to get rid of. It isn't over noisy, and the vibration is perfectly acceptable. It's comfortable to hold. The dust collection box is very good. I was pretty surprised when I saw how much sawdust came out of it after I'd finished my work which, in this case (for the cutting board project) involved multiple sanding with various grit sandpaper, starting at 80 and finishing at 240. The result is a surface that is unbelievably smooth. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Fantastic and is compatible with budget sanding pads

I needed an Orbital Sander for redecoration and upcycling furniture. The quality for the price paid was excellent. I was very impressed with the finish I achieved, and once again, Bosch has delivered a product that functions well, without too much vibration.

A great little sander for the price, nice and smooth and has a great lifespan. The only let downs are no variable speed. And a major fault with it is the dust collector constantly comes unclipped very easily and spews the dust that it has collected everywhere.

Doing up a two bedroom flat and I find myself filling lots of holes in the walls and needing to paint doors and skirting boards. I started off with one of those spongey sanding blocks but soon found it tiring so I invested in this little Bosch orbital sander and a box of 100 sanding disks. Talk about easy and effective! Leveling the filler on the walls became an absolute doddle. Smoothing and prepping the woodwork was also simplicity itself, just a matter of choosing the correct grade sanding pads. Attaching the pads using this velcro system is straightforward and the pads don't budge during use. The unit is small and very easy to guide it and apply the right amount of pressure. The dust collector isn't hugely effective but I have a Henry for clearing up. Also it's a bit noisy but that's the nature of power tools. Overall I'm really pleased. The results are great and it represents good value for money.
