Thumbs Up Retro Games Controller

A great piece of kit! Just plug in and play straight away. With access to hundreds of games you'll easily find something you love. Controller is sturdy and well made. Very good value for money.

Great game remind me the old days fantastic

It's important to know what this offers. The product description says "200 retro games", which tends to imply that these are old games from the very early days of home computers or even arcades. They're not. They are, however, passable imitations of games written for the early computers or even consoles. In other words, don't imagine you're going to see a long lost favourite, because you won't. You will, however, see games in the style of the old, eight-bit offerings that were so popular in the late '70s. The style bit's important, because with that comes the tinny and somewhat monotonous noise, imaginatively called 'music', and which accompanies every game. The games themselves are simply player vs. sprites. The player is controlled by the tiny but perfectly usable joystick and the sprites do their best to destroy the player. The sprites assume a multitude of guises - sometimes they're aircraft, sometimes cars and sometimes tanks or birds. So - overall, how does it perform? Well, the price says it all: it's less than £10 and it offers 200 games, so that works out at 5p per game. In the late '70s / early '80s people were paying more than that to play a single game, so in that sense it's good value. And almost certainly the reason for the lack of original games is because the original owners would still want royalties, even if they could be traced. So if it fills in an hour or so with nostalgic memories and a bit of fun, it's worth it. There's a slight buzz on the sound but that's hidden by the 'music' and the sound effects. Easy to connect, but they don't supply the 3 x AAA batteries you will need to power the pad itself.

To connect to the TV this will require AV to HDMI converter and hdmi cable. Unfortunately my TV doesn't recognise 720p x 480 p output from this controller and won't display any video signal. Pls check your TV for compatibility. Only works with PC monitor for me. Otherwise ok for a short fun. Pity only few decent games included. Rest is rubbish or don't work properly with buttons included.

This product was a gift for a friend. They loved it and said it's great. Particularly the huge choice of games. A good nostalgic gift and it was delivered from the UK to Australia, very impressed!

The product is smaller than expected and difficult to operate as a result. But that really does not matter as most of the games are pretty rubbish with poor graphics and naff gameplay. The A/V connection too looks really bad on LCD TV's with wavy lines and bad colour bleed. On the plus side, it looks quite cute and makes a nice ornament.

Piccola, davvero piccola (dimensioni tic-tac) console per videogiochi 8-bit. Si connette a qualsiasi tv tramite cavi audio/video (logicamente la qualità dei giochi riprodotti sarà lontana anni luce dall'hd) , da il meglio sui vecchi televisori a tubo catodico, adatti alla risoluzione. Logicamente i videogiochi NON SONO originali, in quanto i vari Super Mario, Zelda etc avrebbero causato non pochi problemi di copyright con una piccola azienda giapponese (Nintendo). Sono giochi che riprendono l'estetica e le meccaniche degli otto bit ma sono ORIGINALI, "sviluppati" ad hoc per la console. Vale la pena comprarla? Se sieti ancora una volta attratti dall'estetica e dalle meccaniche dei videogiochi classici e cercate un dispositivo semplice da collegare al volo ad una tv, SI. Se siete invece appassionati di retrogame e/o volete necessariamente gli originali buttatevi su una Nintendo Classic Mini (auguri con i prezzi). Insomma, qualità accettabile e prezzo abbastanza basso per una piccola esperienza; una finestra su un mondo piu vasto, quello del retrogame, che ormai coinvolge numerosi fan nel mondo. Per approfondire poi la questione consiglierei una visita sul sito della rivista inglese retro gamer, una bibbia per gli appassionati (molto spesso veri e propri fanatici dalla sapienza vastissima capaci di azzuffarsi per questa o quella console uscita da trent'anni) del genere. Buon retro-gaming a tutti!

Es simple y parece que se vaya a romper al tocarlo. Pero no, es bastante robusto. Los juegos son simples pero cumplen su función que es recordar los primeros videojuegos. Es bastante entretenido. No lleva ningún juego original pero los hay “inspirados en”

Reçu en temps et en heure, Très complet et transportable, compatible avec toute télé, des jeux sympas pouvant être répétitif mais vu le prix, on ne peut en demander plus que sa, je suis réellement surpris de cette qualité, la manette est vraiment sympas, bien que petite, elle ne peut convenir à de trop grosses mains mais au top, satisfait à 100%
