MSR Expedition Simple Screw Top Replacment Fuel Bottle Cap, Black

I bought the cap as a replacement - the rubber O-ring on the one that came with the bottle years ago had perished. If this one lasts as long. I shall be very pleased.

Great MSR product

I bought two of these MSR caps to replace the caps on non-MSR fuel bottles (GoSystem), where unleaded petrol had degraded the original caps. They seem to be well made, but unfortunately it seems that they will only fit MSR bottles. It seems that the filler / pouring neck on MSR fuel bottles have a narrower outer diameter than other common brands. I have GoSystem, Sigg and Primus fuel bottles and while the screw threads of the MSR caps fit all of them fine, the black, child resistant part of the caps does not fit over the outside of the neck of those bottles, meaning that the cap's O-ring cannot seal against the neck of the bottle, which allows the contents to leak. I have no problem with the quality of the MSR caps, but wanted to let other people, who may need a replacement cap for a non-MSR bottle, know that these are apparently only suitable for MSR bottles.

Works well for a MSR fuel bottle but not for some other manufacturers like Optimus. Much better than the current child proof caps that you have to fight with

amazon me demande d'évaluer ce bouchon, il existe deux modèles, un dit de sécurité (plus difficile ouvrir, sécurité enfant utile pendant le stockage à la maison) et celui ci plus simple (et plus léger); ce dernier remplit parfaitement son rôle, bonne qualité, pas de fuites ni grand chose d'autre à dire. j'en ai juste pris un de rechange au cas ou j'en perdrai un sur le terrain car la bouteille de combustible qui va avec est le plus souvent raccordée au système de pompe du réchaud et le bouchon se retrouve un peu seul à passer d'une poche à l'autre...

Perfect replacement

Works as intended . Much easier to get on and off compared to the child-proof cap. The loop is definitely not as strong as the other cap so if you need to hang this bottle regularly, don't get this one.
