Argo Baking Powder 340g (12oz)

It is just baking powder, but is packaged in such a sensible and useful container. Under the flip lid the opening will accommodate quite a large measuring spoon, and - best of all - it has a straight edge to smooth off the contents! Many other products have round holes . . . . ! The straight edge is great! And the baking powder is great too and produces good results!

I thought I was getting a big jar instead of small bottles. When I first saw the it on Amazon it stated 250ml (12 zo) I didn't see the 12 zo so that is where I went wrong on my purchase. So pay more attention when buying.

This is a large tub of bicarb. I have so far used it along with vinegar to clean a burnt pan. It worked a treat. Not cooked with it yet but it is a smooth powder without any lumps so am sure it will be fine

While baking bread recently I have noticed that it had a bitter after-taste. On finding out that it was because some baking powders contain aluminium I searched for an aluminium free one. After using this powder the bitter taste was not there anymore. An excellent product that is reasonably priced for a big container.

I really wasn't expecting there to be much difference between this and other baking powders - but this has proven me to be a fool. My baking results have improved since using this - and I believe that this is the reason why. Cakes and bread have 'risen more' and been 'fluffier' than previous attempts despite using the same recipe. I am very pleased I tried this.

I received the item today and immediately noticed that the picture on the Amazon website says on the top blue strip that the baking powder is aluminium free but, that is not written on the actual product nor is there anything in its description that says that it is aluminium free. Some reviews say that it does not have an aftertaste which indicates that it is aluminium free. I feel that the seller is deliberately misleading by putting it on the website as free of something but does not say it neither in its description nor on the product sent to customers and I am speaking for myself. However, it arrived in good time albeit the packaging brought a rather battered carton box. I haven't tried it yet to judge its effect but I am very disappointed that it is not aluminium free. Also on the container it says that the product contains a bioengineered food ingredient without explanation.

In the photo on Amazon site it said aluminium free but when it arrived the label was plain. I was confused as on the site there are others being sold without the aluminium free label This should be clearly marked to avoid any confusion. After returning the product I then read in one of the reviews that all the manufacturers baking powers are aluminium free.
