Seagate IronWolf Pro, 2 TB, Enterprise NAS Internal HDD –CMR 3.5 Inch, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7,200 RPM, 256 MB Cache for RAID Network Attached Storage, 3 year Rescue Services (ST2000NT001)

Delivery was prompt and arrived, exactly as expected. Purchased this external hard drive to use in my recently purchased Synology NAS to store photos and videos on. It was very simple to install and set up, even for a tech novice like me. So far, has proved reliable and quick. Plus, the 12tb is more than enough storage to last me for now. NAS is a 2 Bay drive so I will be purchasing a second as a backup drive to this original. Will probably wait till it's on offer though to ensure I get the best value.

My 2TB Western Digital Red drive started having issues in my Synology Diskstation after running constantly for the last 11 years. I was pretty happy with how the WD Red had performed, so I was going to buy the same again, but in a bigger capacity. However, after reading a few reviews, it became apparent to me that WD were now cutting costs by using SMR technolgy in their drives, basically making them unsuitable for NAS use. Hence my purchase of this Seagate Ironwolf 4TB drive. I went for the basic Ironwolf model, as despite it being slower than the other slightly more expensive Ironwolf models, the slowness also means a slower spin speed & in theory, a quieter disk. My NAS box is located under the TV in my lounge, so I would not appreciate any high pitched whistling being emitted from the disk. I can confirm that my disk is silent in use & is actually quieter than the WD disk it replaced.

Purchased three specifically for a NAS unit. They are plug and play, work as expected. One driver developed a fault pretty early on. It started making grinding noises and after a couple of days died completely. Amazon were very good and sent me a replacement straight away. Before I returned it I also checked the serial number on Seagate website which indicated that the drive was under warranty so that would have been another option if Amazon hadn't replaced it. Edit: Three months later and 2 of the 3 drives have failed. The first one was replaced by Amazon with overnight shipping - top notch customer service as always. The second one unfortunately was outside the 30 day window and I was referred to the manufacturer Seagate. They were happy to accept it for replacement however they refused to cover shipping costs and I had to pay to return it to Seagate. They also would not dispatch a replacement device to me until they received the faulty one so I was left without a running drive. I eventually received a replacement approximately 7 days later which was NOT a brand new device but in fact a refurbished device! Absolutely appalling customer service. I don't know whether other manufacturers are any better but I will not be taking a chance with Seagate again.

this is a great product that also carries a 3 year warranty once registered with Seagate

I have 4 of these drives is a Synology DS918+ NAS, they have proved to be reliable. The long warrantee is a bonus and inspires confidence. They are a bit noisy during heavy workloads but I don't find it a problem.

The drive was working fine until it wasnt! Now have a notice of critical error after only 2 months. I set up a NAS with 2 of these in RAID so I wouldnt have a problem with my backups, like I did with my USB portable hard drives and Im not using it too often. It only backs up one a week and I have a couple of app programs that I have built residing on there, as well, while I was building them. It seemed like a good setup before, but now I dont know. Supposedly there is a 3 year warranty so we will see...

Great price for a substantial drive

Ich habe die Seagate IronWolf PRO 18TB bereits vor 2 Jahren gekauft (neu und direkt von Amazon) und bin bisher rundum zufrieden. Die Inbetriebnahme verlief problemlos, die Festplatte wurde sofort erkannt und läuft seitdem absolut stabil. Die Übertragungsraten sind hervorragend mit bis zu 270 MB/s – große Datenmengen werden schnell und zuverlässig verschoben. Auch bei mehreren gleichzeitigen Zugriffen bleibt die Performance konstant hoch. Es bleibt eine Festplatte die hörbar ist, aber im Vergleich zu Festplatten von WD und anderen Herstellern, gerade auch in diesem Segement, empfinde ich sie als angenehm leise. Selbst im Dauerbetrieb stören keine ungewöhnlichen Geräusche. Wer viel Speicherplatz sucht macht mit der IronWolf PRO nichts falsch. Ich kann sie immer noch empfehlen.

i bought the new Seagate Ironworlf Pro ST18000NTZ01. Not only Impressive specs on paper but in real too. Zero vibration and fast. Will see how durability goes in the future and i will update my review if needed. Very happy so far

Ürünü ev bilgisayarım için ikinci HDD olarak aldım. Fotoğraf vs. buluttan otomatik indirerek arşiv amaçlı kullanıyorum. Çalışma esnasında belirgin bir sesi yok. Ben üründen memnun kaldım. Ancak tuvalet kağıdını dahi sarıp sarmayalan amazon, bu ürünü yalnızca bir kutuya koyup göndermişti. En azından havalı naylonla sarılmasını ya da desteklenmesini beklerdim. Buna rağmen yaptığım testte diskte bir hata bulunmadığından bir sorun yaşamadım. OEM şekilde geliyor (kutusuz), vida vs dahil değil.

I am giving for stars mostly for the support I got from Amazon customer service regarding my order. I bought two 12TB drives on the 23rd nov during the sale period. I got them on the 15th Dec. I was traveling during that time, but when I got home, I installed them right away in my brand new NAS. Unfortunately only one worked without a problem. The other one was spinning but was not loading and reading nothing. I tried to put in intro a PC and also a 3.5 sata adapter and connected to a laptop. The same problem-it wasn't readable. Luckly amazon customer service undarstood the problem and gave me a refund. I bought a WD drives this time.
