I have installed eight of these 12 TB IronWolf Pro disks in RAID-6 configuration in my Synology DS3615xs NAS. Using DSM 6.2, these disks are fully supported in the Synology Storage Manager and you can check their IronWolf Health diagnostics, benchmark their speed and test them for any SMART errors. After 7000+ hours of 24x7 operation, each disk is working flawlessly and without any issues. Performance is excellent. I'm about to buy a few more to expand my RAID. Highly recommended.

Noisy on first use, I could only seem to map a 1Gb partition of this drive for some reason. I tried using Mac OSX, Windows 7 and GNU Linux machines before giving up hope. Disappointing.

The Ironwolf Pro means business! It’s designed for NAS storage systems which require 24x7 operation and reliability. It comes with a 5year warranty and a 2 year data recovery plan. I’ve installed it in a MAC desktop to use as a normal storage drive for lots of audio files in a music production system. Not what it’s aimed at but I don’t use NAS systems. Obviously it has loads of storage , but in terms of safety I always keep another copy drive but this way I can consolidate a few drives that I regularly access into one place. It is quiet – the only way this drive is noisy is if you have a case mount that resonates. The inertia created when it’s seeking is quite strong so it will make your case vibrate and lead you to think it’s a noisy drive. It isn’t if it’s secured in a good case. Write speed – 212 MB/s Read Speed – 222 MB/s Overall very happy with the drive.

At first thought - this internal hard drive comes in very flimsy packaging which I found off-putting. It is an expensive piece of kit and would have expected some protection at least. However, it has huge storage capacity and can be used as part of a network-attached storage system (NAS). It is solidly built and is ok to use as a PC internal hard drive. An excellent large-scale storage solution.

Easy installation. Fantastic large capacity. Same sort of sound level as the 4TB previously used. Speed about the same as well. An expensive investment that is doing its job well; especially as it runs 24/7.

J'utilise ce disque sur un system de Nas sous Debian en raid6. C'est le deuxième disque d'une série de six que j'ai prévue d'acheter. Ce disque est connue dans la base de donnée smartmontools en version 6.6. C'est la version pro: - silence en rotation, écriture et lecture. - temperature correcte, installé dans une fatcage icydock avec ventilation, moins de 30 C° Garantie hardware de 5 an et sauvegarde des données si accident de 2ans ( inutile, mais bon ) ...

Ich habe 2 dieser HDDs direkt von Amazon (Amazon als Verkäufer und Versender) bestellt. Als die HDDs geliefert wurden, traf mich fast der Schlag: Die Platten waren ungeschützt (ohne Luftpolsterung etc.) in einem flachen Faltkarton (diese Kartons von Amazon, die man zum Öffnen aufreißen kann) eingepresst. Nach dem Auspacken konnte ich per Sichtprüfung gleich feststellen, dass beide Platten am Rand Dellen (!) durch die schlechte Verpackung und den Transport hatten. Hier trifft aber sicherlich nicht DHL die Schuld. Ergebnis: Beide HDDs ließen sich nicht einmal formatieren. Somit defekt. Was Amazon hier bzgl. der Verpackung abliefert, ist der absolute Witz!!! Solche HDDs gehören in einen mit Luftpolsterung gefüllten Karton und nicht ungeschützt in eine Faltschachtel. Zu den HDDs selbst: Ich habe bereits 3 dieser in meinem NAS im Einsatz. Bin sehr zufrieden. Sie sind schnell und leise. Lediglich die Positionierungs-Geräusche der Leseköpfe beim Zugriff sind etwas laut. Ich werde wohl die 2 noch fehlenden HDDs beim meinem vorherigen Lieferant nachbestellen. Hier wurden diese gepolstert in einem kleinen Karton verpackt, welcher wiederum sich in einem größeren Umkarton befand. Dieser war dann noch auch mit Luftpolstern gefüllt. So wie es sich nun einmal bei solchen HDDs gehört. Nachtrag: ich habe nun 2 dieser HDDs bei meinem vorherigen Lieferanten nachgeordert und betreibe nun 5 Stück davon im RAID5-Verbund. Alles läuft bestens. Bis heute keine fehlerhaften Sektoren. Geschwindigkeitsmessung mit Synology DS1517+ (16 GB RAM), bestückt mit einer Intel X540-T2 (10Gb mit Link Aggregation) Netzwerkkarte und einem PC mit Intel X550-T2 (10Gb mit Link Aggregation) Netzwerkkarte. Die HDDs sind in einer DX1517 Expansionseinheit (eigenes Volume), welche am NAS angeschlossen ist, verbaut: Schreibgeschwindigkeit bei großen Dateien: ca. 380 MB/s Lesegeschwindigkeit bei großen Dateien: ca. 450 MB/s Alle Messungen erfolgten mit einer 66GB Datei, welche über den Windows-Explorer kopiert wurde.

Comprato usato, arrivato nei tempi stabiliti, condizione equivalente a quanto descritto. Fatto un test dell'hard disk quando è arrivato e risultavano solo 3 ore di utilizzo. Ottimo prodotto e ottimo amazon.
