KitchenAid replacement nylon (plastic) Worm Gear / shear gear for KitchenAid 4.5qt and 5qt stand mixers

Perfect fit and was exactly what I needed to fix my kitchen aid when the bowl came off mid mix. The first pin is difficult to get out of the hole so Needed some help but otherwise did the job myself following a YouTube video.

Wife's KitchenAid mixer stopped rotating properly, mainly because she uses it to make bread dough, which is quite a violent operation. A replacement mixer was beyond my budget, so I was happy to find this gear is designed to fail under stress and costs considerably less than a new mixer. :-) A few tools (including a trusty hammer!) and a YouTube video are required. It is a very messy job as the gear is buried in thick grease, but it all went back together and despite the pin that locks the gear onto its shaft sliding in with nothing like the force it took to remove it, it is now restored to its former glory. My mixer did require some wires to be disconnected from the motor housing, which didn't quite match the video, but it was fairly easy to do. Nice to work with something that was engineered!

fits and runs smoothly and quietly, just ensure all the gear teeth are adequately greased. Important not to wait until the gears show excessive signs of wearing.

This is an original part. Do not buy the cheaper alternatives, they will not fit correctly and are of poor quality. I always have one of these spare as I mix heavy dough with my kitchen aid and these will get damaged over time.

I had foolishly not clicked my metal bowl properly into my Kitchenaid stand mixer so when it slipped out and jammed with the motor still running I wasn’t surprised to find it growling in pain. I cleaned it up with the hope that a few minutes downtime would resolve it but no, it was sounding like it was on its last legs. My husband suggested repairs but sending it off for fixing was looking like £200. We researched the internet and YouTube where this nylon cog seemed to be our best bet. I ordered with not much hope of it working but can happily report SUCCESS. There are lots of videos on YouTube to take you through the step by step repair and if you have some tools and can follow instructions it takes about an hour to dismantle and reassemble your mixer. It is a messy job because once you open the mixer it’s full of gloopy grease which you will get all over your work surface and tools but this needs to be saved and returned inside the machine before closing back up. The external machine then needs a wipe over and we found meths worked best. This tiny part has saved my Kitchenaid and I’m ordering another to have as back up in case this ever happens again.

Bought this to repair my friend's Kitchen Aid that was not working properly. Identified likely cause from online video and ordered part required. It arrived next day and I followed video again to fit it. Not a difficult job and mixer now working perfectly. Just what was needed and friend delighted with outcome.

Il prodotto è perfettamente sostituibile, occorre fare attenzione a ripulire bene la scatola degli ingranaggi dal vecchio grasso in quanto i pezzetti dei denti dell'ingranaggio sono inglobati. Quindi è obbligatorio sostituire anche il grasso in contemporaneamente al cambio dell'ingranaggio.

La qualité semble ok. N'a pas cassé depuis le montage et après avoir pétri de la pâte à pain (environ 1kg, 2 fois) et après avoir fait des pâtes fraîches.

Bei unserer Kitchenaid Artisan 5KSM150PSEGA4 hatte sich das Nylon-Zahnrad "die Zähne ausgebissen" als die Metall-Abdeckung vom Zubehöranschluß in die 4.83L große Rührschüssel fiel, während sich der Knethaken in einem Brotteig abmühte. Danach drehte sich der Haken zwar noch unregelmäßig, jedoch mit nicht originalen mechanischen Geräuschen. Ich öffnete die Maschine anhand der bereits erwähnten und wirklich hilfreichen youtube-Anleitung, identifizierte das Zahnrad als defekt (VOR meiner Bestellung...) und fand bei meiner Suche nach dem passenden Ersatzteil dies Angebot hier. Geliefert wurde von "Lana's Kenwood Spares" für günstige 12,31EUR incl. Versandkosten. Die angegebene Lieferzeit aus den USA wurde um 1 Tag unterschritten (Lieferung war schon am 2. Tag nach Versand). Das wie das Original aussehende Ersatzteil befand sich in einer kleinen Plastiktüte mit dem Aufdruck "Whirlpool Corp. Factory Certified Parts, Made in: US", code: 172408 und konnte von mir anhand der Video-Anleitung innerhalb weniger Minuten ausgetauscht werden. Die Maschine läuft nun wieder wie neu. Von mir gibt es deshalb die volle Punktzahl auf das gelieferte Ersatzteil - zumal wir die Kosten für den Versand an den Kitchenaid-Service und die sicherlich nicht gerade niedrigen Reparaturkosten gespart haben. Sollte das hier erworbene Ersatzteil unerwartet schnell verschleißen, werde ich es an dieser Stelle berichten. Heißt, solange ich hier die volle Punktzahl belasse, kann der werte Leser davon ausgehen, daß das gelieferte Ersatzteil fehlerfrei arbeitet. :-) update 24.10.2019: immer noch alles in Ordnung, die Maschine funktioniert tadellos - das gelieferte Ersatzteil ist also kein billiger Nachbau.

This is a good high quality replacement worm gear. Mixer works perfectly. I previously installed a cheap worm gear however the outer plastic teeth turns/slips on the inner metal section. I recommend purchasing this or equivalent OEM part.
