Shovel worked great. No issues digging. Extremely sturdy. I used without the handle extension to lighten the load. I tried the extension around my backyard and works well but in my opinion too heavy when hunting for a couple of hours. For the quality of this shovel, the price is an awesome deal.

I've been metal detecting / treasure hunting for many years and have used all sorts of shovels from the USGI Tri-Fold E-Tool, to some old beat up ones in our shed, a fancy fiberglass handle trenching shovel (that I modified) to this one. The handle (and overall) design of this shovel is brilliant, need a shorter shovel... easy. Need a full-length shovel, easy. Sharp right out of the box. Great digger, glad I picked one up.

However, while the three-piece design offers nice size options, I did notice that over time, the pieces can loosen up slightly. Nonetheless, this minor inconvenience is far outweighed by the shovel’s overall performance and durability. Overall, I highly recommend this metal detecting shovel to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient tool for their outdoor adventures. It’s a game-changer!

The adjustable handle makes the shovel perfect for people of all ages. The unique design is perfect for metal detecting. The shovel is lightweight and easy to carry. It's also very high quality. I own three metal detecting shovels, and this is my favorite. In my opinion, it’s the BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY. I recommend oiling the treads on the handle, as it tends to get stuck.

I am 6’4 and this shovel is perfect for me. I wanted a taller shovel so I wouldn’t have to bend over much(just had back surgery). But I still wanted to go out and dig some holes. I have not had any problems with it at all. But then again I have only had this shovel for about 3 weeks. So far so good

The quality of this shovel truly surprised me.I spent twice as much for the "gold standard" of metal detecting shovels last year. This one is sturdier, serves more purposes, and is much easier to tote around since it breaks down into pieces.The edges are strong and sharp and dig into the ground easily.A great find for metal detecting and gardening enthusiasts alike.

The good: As an avid metal detecting addict I appreciated the physical dimensions of this spade. The length was perfect (I'm 6' 3"). The blade (although too heavy) was aggressive and wide enough to move a good sized plug. The fact that it came in 3 pieces was the reason I bought it. I brought it with me to England for 3 days of digging. My brother bought one as well, to do the same. We found the shovels functional but not without issues. The bad: The mechanical design for locking the pieces together was sloppy. It was a constant battle keeping the parts aligned as they continually came loose. We were constantly re-locking, re-twisting, and eventually regretting. After three days both of our shovels were no longer falling apart. In fact, both of our shovels had become seized at the joints and no matter how hard we tried, they would no longer separate. My brother and I ended up leaving the (now one piece) shovels behind in England. They were not going to fit in any checked bag and certainly couldn't be carried on. If you are considering buying this spade realize that you will struggle with the "locking" design and probably end up with a "one piece" shovel eventually. I can not recommend this for travel unless you are willing to duct tape over the locking ferrules when using it. Then, disassemble it after each use and lubricate the threading. Buyer beware... our shovels lasted only 3 days. 🤔

The shovel is lightweight and very strong. The blade easily cut through the roots and allowed me to remove the juniper root in 10 minutes. The root in the picture was 18” in diameter. Excellent purchase for the cost.

I have never been so in love with a shovel in my life, I sometimes find myself carrying it around for no reason at all and I stand and pause for a second to laugh
