I installed my safe about five years ago and it has been working flawlessly since then. I haven't needed to open it often - just when I needed our passports or other important documents out but it was a simple matter of tapping in the combination, hearing the beep and turning the handle and it opened. No problem. Until about two weeks ago, when I input the combination, heard the beep and turned the handle ... and nothing happened. I thought something had caught inside the safe and jammed the mechanism as the keypad was still making the beeping noises. I searched around and fortunately found the keys. These did open the safe without any problem. I replaced the batteries and it is again, working perfectly. The batteries must not have had quite enough power to move the internal mechanism enough to open the safe lock. I am now going to set a reminder to change the batteries every year or two. Just don't lose those very handy keys. Otherwise, a great little safe.

I ordered this on a friday around 1pm, it was dispatched on Monday which was fine as I wasn't in a rush to get it I was surprised however to get in from work on Tuesday to find it had been delivered. It even still states that its been dispatched and not delivered yet The safe was lighter than expected and there was something rattling around inside, but I read a review here before I purchased it that said it was the keys & batteries so I was aware of what it was. The setup was quick and simple, you install the batteries and click the red button then enter the code you want to unlock the safe and press enter, it will play an audible beep to let you know the code has been stored. The instructions are a little misleading, they tell you (at least by my perception) that you need both the code and a key to unlock the safe but you can use either one to open it. Overall, amazing delivery and very good quality for the money I spent. Very happy with the purchase so far

Electronic lock A keypad is always my preference over basic key locking because you can change the code to something that only you will know. Ease of use Locking the safe is straightforward and the door feels quite sturdy with a reassuring clunk when you close it. You can set a PIN code with 4, 5 or 6 numbers which you can change as often as you like and don’t worry if you forget the code or the batteries run flat, the Yale Budget comes with 2 back up keys for instant access. Be careful not to lock keys in the safe! Fitting There are pre-drilled fixing holes in the back as well as the bottom so you can secure the safe to the wall or floor. A 12 month warranty is included as standard although more expensive safes offer 2 years or more. What's not so good Back up keys I know I said earlier how useful these can be but they are often misplaced, accidentally thrown away with the packaging or more commonly locked inside the safe. I speak to someone everyday who has locked the back-up keys inside their safe – for safe keeping! Fixing Bolts Although included I would prefer something a bit sturdier. They will happily secure the safe to the wall or floor and you might find them more than adequate but replacing them with longer bolts would be my advice. Security This is certainly not a high security safe and with the right tools and time, eventually it could be opened. The thing to remember is this will keep out most opportunist thieves. Verdict The Yale Budget is one of our best selling safes for two reasons; it’s cheap and it’s made by Yale. Let’s not kid ourselves; you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t recommend it for expensive jewellery but it’s great for storing your passport or maybe a birth certificate – ideally the sort of stuff you need to keep safe and in one place. If you are looking for something that’s cheap and cheerful then you really don’t need to look much further than this excellent little safe by Yale.

I bought in November but only just got around to setting it up. Slight struggle at first before I realised that the door needed to be open before inserting a code for the first time. After that it was easy peasy. Not too big, but that was the idea, and tucks nicely away out of sight. Two keys included and if you lose you can order them direct from Yale. Instructions are a bit airy fairy, too many languages involved, better to have a set for each language and not one line of instructions in many languages and then do the same for subsequent lines. Otherwise a good buy.

I ordered this safe on 29th October 2012 and it was delivered on the 1st November 2012! It came well packaged (however, it did say what was inside the box on the package and a great big picture of the safe - not good if buying a present for someone in the same household). Inside the safe were two keys, 2 nails, 2 spacers and raw plugs, to bolt it to the wall or floor, along with simple instructions. I ordered the small version of this safe and it fits my Motorola XOOM tablet in as well of lots of other items, it is also very easy to set up - very impressed! It is very good value for money and I would recommend buying this item! Swift deliver, great product, value for money - 10/10 so far! (I will update if I have any problems in the near future with it)

Bon produit pour mettre en sécurité des papiers, des billets et une carte bancaire. Les dimensions sont correctes et la manipulation aisée. Le changement de code est très facile. Pour la sécurité, c'est du basique mais qui rebutera les novices et amateurs! Acheté en reconditionné et très satisfait.

Not to big to be too obvious in a room but big enough to store a medium sized computer and A4 documents amongst other valuables. The setup steps are easy to follow

Prodotto valido, ma non è una cassaforte blindata, può andar bene per custodire documenti ma a mio avviso non oggetti di valore perché è fatta con uno spessore di 3 mm di acciaio, non è blindata come casseforti di qualità superiore (e anche prezzo superiore di 300-400 euro) per quello che costa è un buon prodotto e mi ritengo pienamente soddisfatto. Cuando la seleccioné para comprárla, regresé a leer opiniones y me habían hecho dudar que porque era difícil de programar y bla bla bla. Decidí comprarla y esta muy bien. Súper fácil de programar. Lo único que no estaba alineado eran los tornillos con los taquetes, pero compre los tornillos en una ferretería para el táquete y me salieron a 2 pesos cada uno, la fijé al suelo y la pared y quedó súper genial. Estoy viendo comprár una más grande para los electrónicos

Le coffre reçu est un coffre d occasion qui ne fonctionne pas.. la partir électronique est defectueuse, des éclats de peintures sont présent un peu partout. Très decu
