Intends to introduce young children to unfamiliar situations. This series helps young children and adults to discuss first experiences. It includes over 50 stickers and "I found the duck" reward stickers. Review: Our favourite sticker book so far - We love this sticker book! I bought this for my 2 year old to help prepare him for the arrival of a sibling. The story is pretty much the same as the New Baby book, with a few added sentences. Unlike some other Usbourne sticker books where you just stick the stickers wherever you like, this book contains the story, with clear guidance as to where the stickers should go. Amongst the text are line drawings to replace a word, for example 'cat'; you then find the sticker with the cat and stick it over the image of the cat. My child enjoyed lining up the sticker perfectly with the image. Although the pages aren't super glossy, they are smooth enough to allow some repositioning of the stickers. My sone enjoyed this much more than the Farmyard Tales sticker book, which contains no story. Now that the sticker book is finished, my child still wants the story read to him, unlike in other completed sticker books where the books would just get chucked into the recycling. The story itself is very sweet and provided us with lots of areas for discussion, which all helped to prepare my child for his new sibling. We enjoyed this so much that I will buy it again if we have another child, to help prepare the second child for a baby sibling. Review: Great preparation for a new arrival! - We got this book for our almost 4 year old son to help him prepare for the arrival of our new baby. He loved reading the pages with us at bedtime & it encouraged us to elaborate more about why would happen when baby arrives like mummy going to hospital, feeding baby, where baby would sleep etc. He also loved filling in the new words he’d learnt when we got to each sticker so it really helped his vocabulary. Even when he stickers were in, he still enjoyed having this read to him. Only thing worth noting is that baby in the book was a girl. We didn’t know what we were having (& turned out we were having a boy). When I read the book to him, I therefore didn’t read ‘she’ but substituted for ‘baby’ so we didn’t confuse him.

Brilliant purchase for an older sibling
Such a high quality product and great for giving some quality time and attention to older brother or sister when new arrival comes. We’d borrowed the book from the library and liked it so much that we ordered this. Only downside (depending on age of the child) is that the stickers need to be stuck in conjunction with reading the story rather than sticker ‘free for all’ which works better with a 2 year old but you can work around it - only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars

Excellent book
I bought this for my grandchildren who are getting close to getting a new sister. This particularly helped the elder of the two as it went systematically outlined the run up to the babies birth and what would happen afterwards. I feel it helped to reduce the fear of mummy going in to hospital and helped them process the order of things to come, Very well explained but in the guise of a nice little story that children can read themselves. The stickers were an added bonus.

Well recommended
Really good book, stickers make it far more interesting. Introduces both breast feeding and bottle feeding, Mum going to hospital in the middle of the night and being quiet around the baby. Good conversation starter for other little children

Great for young kids.
I bought this book for my friends little boy, who was due a new sister any day. It really helped him adjust to the idea and hes now an amazing big brother. Being 3 can be quite scary never mind seeing mummys belly grow and not know what's happening. Fantastic book.

Bought for my granddaughter(4) in preparation for the arrival of her sibling. We had fun going through the story and finding homes for the stickers and finding the duck on each page. Provided lots of talking points regarding the new baby. Great buy.

Adorável e muito adequado.
Minha filha adorou a história.

The best on this subject
We've purchased a few books on this subject to prepare our two-year-old for our new baby, and this is the favorite. The text is very simple and straightforward, keeping mostly clear of emotional descriptions and dialogue. I appreciate this because I don't want to give my son ideas regarding how he should or shouldn't feel about having a new baby in our family. I just wanted something to help prepare him for all of the changes we were going to be experiencing, and this book did exactly that. For example, the story talks about all of the changes in the house, like getting the baby's room ready and getting out all of the baby stuff to get it cleaned and ready, Papa and Granny coming over to visit for awhile to help with the kids, visiting Mommy and the new baby at the hospital, and Mommy and baby being very tired (and needing lots of extra help) when they come home. The illustrations are darling, and even funny. I liked that it showed a picture of mommy nursing and daddy being tired from all the extra work he's had to do around the house - it made me chuckle a little. I highly recommend this book to anyone with small children expecting another one. We love it!
