Effective if used according to the instructions
These are excellent IF you follow the instructions. Itโs obvious from what many say below that they havenโt done so. A couple of pointers: Use in conjunction w moth spray and pheromone coated sticky sheets for trapping moths. You need to shut all external doors and windows and prevent the smoke from escaping otherwise- eg up a chimney. Open all drawers, cupboards & other clothes storage areas (eg bags etc). Shut food away and remove pets. Arrange to light them and leave each room in sequence till you get to the door, then leave your property for several hours afterwards. You canโt stay in a property which has just been โbombedโ. Come back, open the doors and windows in the rooms you have to use, but keep others shut. Repeat the process after a few weeks to catch the moths which were not hatched on your first bombing. Check the effectiveness of your treatments by leaving the pheromone strips around - write the date onto the back of each strip when you put it out to keep an eye on how long itโll last. It may take a few cracks at them if theyโve got under your carpets - but these bombs do work. If you get a dud, just contact the vendor and theyโll replace Iโm sure-however weโve used 32 and every one has worked so far. Anyone who says they donโt kill insects must be harbouring post-Armageddon life forms because itโs permetherin and fatal to almost all little critters. Donโt suppose it kills bedbugs though-if youโve got those I would suggest you invest in professional help as they donโt die easily, so Iโm told! Best of luck - weโre winning the war after years of moth problems.

Effective and easy to use
This is excellent stuff for killing clothes moths and very easy to use. The smoke gets into all corners of the room without any hassle. I open clothes cupboards and drawers to let it get to their contents as well as to my carpets. It also kills other creepy crawlies which might happen to be about. I regularly keep it in the household armoury and this last time I got it to take to a friend who has a moth infestation. Well worth getting the multipacks as the unit price is so much better.

So far so good
I ordered 6 midi fumers to help kill the numerous fleas which appeared to be in every room of the house. I have 8 cats so all of these would also need flea treatments at the same time the fumers were being released. The fumers generate a lot of smoke and even after 2-3 hrs treatment time the rooms were quite smokey. The Windows were left open for a couple of hrs to clear the smoke but a faint smokey odour still remained and was more or less gone within 24hrs. There were still a few live fleas after treatment but suspect these may have been falling off my cats during their treatments. Gave the house a good vacuum and I'm happy that the fleas are under control at the very least, if not gone altogether. I've got a couple extra fumers incase any of the rooms need a second treatment. Would recommend that you use a midi sized fumer for an averaged sized room, my biggest room was approx 80-100m3.

The mighty have fallen (or not!)
The first time I bought these they were fantastic. We live in a victorian house and have spiders that seem to have been growing since victorian times. We got these to keep fleas at bay but found they did the spiders in too. Bonus. However, the recent batch I bought were useless. I set six off in my two bed house (overkill I thought, but just to be sure!). They've had no effect whatsoever. No dead critters anywhere and fleas that seem to be mocking they are so brazen. Really disappointed after the effectiveness of the first batch.

Goodbye flies...............
You have to understand how to use these. It is VERY simple.1 - If you have any smoke alarms particularly to an external central station you will need to arrange for the alarm to be put on "test". 2 - Remove animals and fish tanks 3 - Secure room to be treated and place fumer on two full size ceramic dishes (or similar) to insulate heat from floor. 4 - Light touch paper and leave for, say, three hours, shutting any doors. It only "smokes" for less than a minute. It is not a firework! Over the next two hours the active ingredient gets EVERYWHERE in that room. Return after three hours or more and any flies or insects will be found dead on the floor. If you had an infestation this could easily be hundreds. Most likely it will only need to be done once. The fly "cycle" is 42 days and if they reappear do it again. Some premises are just prone to flies, but this stuff consigns them to hell, not heaven. One of these can cover quite an expanse.

Not as good as it used to be
I have used these once before about 7 years - they came in metal containers and did an amazing, immediate job on a horrendous flea infestation. This lot, now in plastic containers burnt & smoked for a few seconds and went out as soon as the blue paper had burnt through to the red plastic bit. The house is still full of fleas unfortunately. Have now ordered a spray instead

Smoke damage
Having followed the instructions our room now has what can only be described as smoke damage. The curtains and carpet smell of burnt paper. After airing the room with the windows wide open and spraying with Febreeze it still has the acrid smell of smoke. I would use with caution if using this product as you will be left with this smell and no way of knowing if it will ever fade to an acceptable level.
