Campingaz Chef Folding Double Burner Stove and Grill, compact gas cooker for camping or festivals, Blue

Got this after a storm took out the power to our town a while back and it works just as good as any indoor gas hob with the benefit of being portable. I like the section in the middle for toasting bread which can also be used as a grill for rashers etc. One tip for people connecting up the gas hose tubing is to dip the end of the hose in hot (not boiling) water for a few seconds to soften it up before pushing it on for a good tight fit. Very easy to use once connected up to gas barrel and could easily prep a full outdoor dinner on it given its size. Great value for money and overall build is sufficient for camping/backyard use

Wonderful quality

Good cooker, be carefull when attatching gas hose. I steadied the connection with one hand while pushing the hose on with other, just remember to put the jubilee clip on hose first if regulator already fitted, hose is very tight to fit but it does go on with a little perseverance. Cooker is light but does the job, cover is a bit flimsy and I dont really trust the hinges, make sure to use the lid stabilizers and clip them onto sides to support the lid as it acts as a wind guard, Two burners working, good flames produced, ignition works great, not tried the grill yet. but bought it for the 2 burners, grill does NOT have ignition, needs to be lit by other means, happy with purchase, worth the cost paid. Recommended item.

Decent camping cooker

This is the go to camping cooker. It’s sold everywhere and you will see hundreds of them on the camp site. The Amazon price is also very attractive. Bad bits first - it comes without a gas pipe or regulator. I understand the lack of regulator as we all have different gas bottles. But a bit of pipe couldn’t hurt. I spend an additional £12.50 on a Campingaz regulator and pipe for my 907 bottle. The next issue is lighting the thing. The rings have an ignition button each that works really well. But the grille does not. The instructions are minimal at best, so after some online research I came to the conclusion that it needed to be ignited with an external source. So you will also need a long lighter. Whilst the unit folds down into a handy carry case. Note that you now have a pipe and regulator flapping about. The control knobs are also outside of the case and very venerable so you do need to be mindful when packing. The good bits - it’s light and generally well built. It’s large enough to put a decent sized kettle and medium frying pan on together and the power output is very impressive. The lid works really well as a heat shield and when you have the rings covered the direct area around the job is not too hot making it, in my opinion quite a safe little unit. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase. Just keep in mind the required accessories.

Great outdoor cooking

Everything working fine, coupled it up no problem to the calor gas. Price was reasonable. Looking forward in making meals

I've used this hob everyday 3 times a day for a few months now (we are redoing our kitchen and the old induction hob broke). Not so good: I found the grill a total waste of time, feels like you'll use half a bottle of gas just to get 1 slice of bread mildly blushed with colour. Also found it difficult to clean as any splashes or spillages collect at the bottom of the lid in the upright position (plus it has a rim). Flame on highest setting works fine although the low setting is too high for cast iron pots when they get to temperature. We've worked around this by turning the knob very slowly as if you were switching it off. We can then set a much lower flame. I'm using it in my kitchen with no drafts to blow the flame out mind!... Good: The ignition switches are amazing, never fail, but note the grill doesn't have one, only the hobs do. I've had it loaded with large cast iron pans filled with stew and it's solid construction coped without any issues. Verdict: Overall, I'd say this is a great purchase if you're looking for a small gas hob.

The product is damaged the flames are coming out from everywhere dangerously without controlling it. So bad product. I was so excited get it unfortunately and try it on my camping trip but it was a disaster!!!?

It's good. Maybe 5-star good. But I am sooo old, I remember the older Campingaz models that were much much sturdier.
