Has the manufacturer fixed the issue with the straps?

I didn't know there was an issue with the straps. They work fine for me.

I keep my massage table in the hatch back of my corolla, would I need to remove the trolly from the table before I put them both in my car?

It depends on the size of your car boot! If the boot is deep enough you can keep the trolley attached! It also depends on the weight and dimensions of your massage table! The trolley itself is very light.

Would this work for a potable massage chair?

I dont think so. It's only as wide as the widest massage table.
