4pc - OPT7 Color-Smart LED Double Row Strip Kit - 16+ Multi-Color - Interior Underdash Lighting Kit

These lights are exactly as I expected they would be. You get two wiring options -1 is a fuse tap the other plugs directly into the cigarette lighter/AC adapter. I decided to go with the easiest option and plugged into the AC adapter slot that is in the trunk of my '19 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I chose this option to allow myself some time to experiment with the lights, figure out if I really like them, etc. The extension wires provided are super long, so wiring this up and hiding the wires was no problem at all. I have the Weather Tech floor liners so I was able to route all of these wires underneath those, and into easily detached interior plastic panels. I got the 2 row 4 light pack, which was exactly what I wanted so both rows of seats would have the accent lighting. I did have to use the zip ties in the back seat as there is nowhere for the tape to adhere to underneath the seats and I did not want the physical lights visible at all. Upfront, I ended up being able to use use the adhesive tape to stick the lights under the dash, but I suspect I will end up using a couple of zip ties to keep them tightly mounted to the plastic trim. As far as the lights themselves go, they are awesome and SUPER bright -which is exactly what I wanted. The sound sync mode works best when the vehicle is not in motion. When in motion they react to every sound... road noise, engine noise, exhaust, bumps in the road, talking, etc and the system doesn't know what to do so they end up just sort of, pulsing very quickly and practically just being consistently lit. That doesn't mean it doesn't work well, it just means for noisier vehicles you probably won't get as much enjoyment out of the sound sync function. All of the other functions are great, and the color choices are all vivid and bright. In short, if you're on the fence about these lights, just get them. They're an awesome edition to any vehicle.

First off, this is actually the second one I purchased because the first control box was defective. I opted to install directly into the fuse box because I hate seeing wires. I was able to bury everything for a super clean setup. If I had to do it over, I would first do some investigative work into where to mount these in the vehicle. I eventually figured out good spots, but naturally every car is different. I wanted to have the lights displayed and not the strips themselves to obtain that indirect light feel and was able to do so. Really like that they include a variety of zip ties and mounting hardware, plus the three choices of fuse adapters is super nice as an option. To get the right install, it can take 1-2 hours, but that's me because I wanted everything to be hidden and that took extra time, which I was already expecting. There are a variety of modes for lighting effects that I'm still playing with and I'm impressed with the light strip durability as well as the adhesive strips which seem to be a nice firm hold. Remains to be seen how it holds up in the Arizona heat. The trickiest thing was hooking up the aux wire. I would recommend you check online, YouTube, etc, to see the best option for your vehicle. Mine required some soldering and creative wire placement. This feature, to me, was the most finicky step of the process, but I got the payoff I wanted.

I'm giving these lights 4 stars only for the quality. I'm going to break up this review into 2 categories Quality and Installation The quality of the lights are really good. The lights are completely sealed so the lights won't gets dirt or water on the actual led lights themselves. They're very bright and the color is very sharp. The adhesive is very poor quality but it did come with black clips and screws to screw into plastic, and grab the light very firmly but not to hard. The install took me about 2 and half hours just because I wanted to make it look clean. It comes with fuse taps with are easy to install. If you are not sure about the fuse taps there are youtube videos explaining on how they work and to make sure you install them correctly so if something happens, it blows the fuse and doesn't short out the lights. I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited and it was really easy to install. In my vehicle there is only 1 fuse box which is under the hood, so I had to go through the firewall. But if your vehicle has an interior fuse box it will be easier to install to that. If you do not want to install to the fuse box, it come with a cigarette lighter adapter with a switch on it so you can turn off. The box does not come with any instructions on how to install and the links to the support videos that are on the paperboy the box only show how well they look. So do a little research on how to hardwire install if you want a clean look. It comes with an IR remote easy to use and compact. It DOES NOT have app control ability. Opt7 does make a v2 control box but they are either out of stock or its disconnected. So over all, its a good quality light strip, really bright, easy install and not bad of a price. If you want to control the light through your phone I'd go with a different brand but if that doesn't bother you, go with these.

I owned a previous version of this kit in my last car. This kit is miles better than the other and that's saying a lot! I did enjoy the last kit, however it was rather fragile. I found the LED strips that came with this kit to be very heavy duty with fantastic adhesive. Install took me about 3 hours with tucking all cables and finding a good fuse to tap into. I tested the door open white light feature and found it worked well, however I didn't set this up because I personally didn't feel the need. It does work well if you plan to use it. The Sound Sync works well, however it picks up a lot of driving noise causing more flashing that what would otherwise be expected (not that you should drive with flashing light, but curiosity got to me). All colors are very bright and crisp. Both remotes respond well even from a distance. Overall a GREAT purchase and I highly recommend it to everyone. Car: 2016 VW Tiguan SEL PROS: Great quality, packaging, colors, and includes all hardware needed to install the product. CONS: One of the power cables I had to really stretch to make it work. Length could be a little longer, but for most cars on the road it should be sufficient. -------------------------- When I get time, I upload photos and a video.
