Encyclopedia of electronics
Every electronic component (almost) has been well defined, in text and with cross sectional images for better understanding. A must have book for people who want to learn about electronics in our day to day life. Cost appears little high, but worth it.

Just. Get. It!
Despite having a background in electronics development, both academic and professional, "Open Circuits" introduced me to a new world of electronic components - their inner workings. On over 300 pages, the book combines high quality photographs exposing what's inside resistors, cables, microchips etc with a few words of additional infos. It's not to be seen as a technical reference but as a work of art, revealing the hidden beauty slumbering inside everything carrying electrons around you. Until now, every friend of mine has been fascinated about it, regardless of technical background. I loved it so much, I couldn't resist gifting a second one to my former teacher to present his students in class :) This book is pure gold!

英語の教材にはなります
日本語版を先に購入していたが、仕事柄電子部品のことに関する英作文をする機会が多いため独学用に購入した。大変参考になっているけれども、両方の版ともほぼ同じ構成・大きさなので並べて見るのはほぼ不可能だった。ただ写真も綺麗だし、電気英語の勉強用の教材にはおすすめ。
