A Day at the Races is the fifth studio album by Queen. It was the band's first completely self-produced album and features the singles, "Somebody to Love," "Tie Your Mother Down," and "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy." Released in 1976, it reached #1 in the U.K., Top 5 in the U.S. and has been certified multiplatinum. This reissue has been sourced from the original master tapes and is pressed on 180-gram vinyl. Review: One of rocks greatest albums - Started with the vinyl version in the seventies. Got this to replace an old cd . 50 years on and still enjoying this ! Review: Music From a Record Can't Be Beat! - I grew up with records (yes, I'm getting older - Ugh!) and decided I wanted another Queen album. I remember many of these songs and my favorites: Long Away, You And I, You Take My Breath Away. Two I had not heard but are very good: Teo Torriatte and Drowse. Glad I purchased another RECORD...! :o)

Magnificent Queen! A day at the races!
Absolutely one of the best Queen albums/cd's. A lot of Hit songs here. Again very diversified styles ranging from heavy rock to the soft ballad (You Take My Breath Away)with Freddie Mercury in gorgeous voice,- such a beautiful song.! Everytime I listen to (Tie your Mother down) it makes me smile the lyrics are so much fun. The Bonus tracks of this song and( Somebody to Love) are really well done without messing too much with the original songs. Another favourite of mine is:( Teo Torriatte) obviously a big hit in Japan and a really pretty song. Plus( You and I) is a really lovely song that didn't get as much notice as it should have at the time. If you love Queen! Then this is a must have. Just great!

A MUST HAVE!
Modern remastered music from the 60s and 70s has been nothing short of amazing in some cases. While a lot of remastered albums aren't a big improvement, however when they get it right like with this Queen Classic, its well worth the $$ to upgrade. Bohemian Rhapsody alone is worth the purchase of this remastered CD. Even my wife sat thru a "cranked up" session and that NEVER HAPPENS. I am truly amazed at how SOME of these classic album remasters turn out so well considering the level of technology used to record them in the 70s. Hats off to the engineers and please keep up the great work.

Perfect Recording
If you like any song from one of the most amazing bands of the 70's & 80's "Queen", is it. I first heard News of the World in 1977 I was 16. This one came out in 1976 I was 15 but sadly didn't hear this one until 1979. I jumped on this colored vinyl album & I'm impressed with the perfect sound & memories.

Not the best quality pressing ever, but not the worst either
I picked this album up because it's got a few great songs I really liked and I wanted to be able to listen to the entire album experience on vinyl. It might sounds strange but audio quality isn't my #1 concern here, as I have MP3s that I can listen to if I'm worried about static etc. That said... I got this one damaged to save some money because I don't care about the minimal cover much. Out of the box the album was covered in paper flecks from the inner sleeve. I blew it off and it played fine. A bit of static, but otherwise quite pleased with quality. I suspect this album will sound better once I have it cleaned and stored in an audiophile grade inner sleeve, because low-quality paper inner sleeves create static and literally shed paper particles that cling to the record. So right now, quality of packaging? Acceptable. Quality of inner sleeve? Junk. Quality of pressing? Seems good but time will tell after I get it cleaned up and put in a nice anti-static sleeve. If you (like me) care more about the album itself than the "audiophile" quality, this is perfectly acceptable. It sounds like people are are true audiophiles may want to search elsewhere due to some pressing issues others have noted. The album is cheap if you are casual lisener/collector.

Queen Takes Your Breath Away
Queen never disappoints. This is an awesome 2-disc CD that in addition to Freddie Mercury's incomparable vocals, also features some absolutely kick-ass guitar solos by Brian May. Man! Could he make that thing sing! And then there's drummer Roger Taylor doing some vocals on "Drowse," along with his stellar percussion work. And certainly can't leave out the driving, throbbing bass work by bass guitarist John Deacon. But the piece de resistance is the live track on Disc 2 from "Live at Hyde Park 1976" by Freddie Mercury singing "You Take My Breath Away." It is just Freddie, accompanying himself on the piano while rendering an absolutely ethereal other-worldly vocal about love and longing - just beautiful. I think it is the most beautiful love song I've ever heard. It's more than just an ode to love, though - it's a song about intimacy. It will truly take your breath away. This song alone is worth the price of the entire CD - just absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful!

Long Live Queen!
