Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouth Guard

Bought for my 17 year old son to use when partaking in combat sports such as Muay Thai and boxing. The item was of very good quality. I opted for the black mouth guard but the colour options were great. It is very effective in keeping my son's teeth in tact. Instructions of how to use were very clear.

The first time I moulded it i thought - 'this is small (didn't get good coverage of molars) and very CHUNKY at the front.' I moulded it again and really pushed my front teeth into the gel at the front. The second mould was a game changer, much better fit now. I'm a 26 yr old male, and its fair to say i do have fairly big teeth, thanks to a good mouth guard i still have all of them. Only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is that it is quite chunky at the front. This comes with a little plastic case.

This guard is 100% worth paying that little bit extra for. I have owned many in the past for sports throughout school and university and none rival these. They are comfy to wear as well and are easy to mold. Because they are made of silicon it is cushioned on the inside so when something hits you the impact is absorbed by the silicon and you can barely even feel it on your teeth. If you want real protection, it's worth spending a bit more on this one!

Been wearing this for mountain biking for the last month or so. Thankfully haven't seen if it works or not yet. Feels comfortable, easy to put in and hugs my teeth so it doesn't come out with my mouth open. Wouldn't think about wearing an open face helmet on faster sections without it now, even though you get some funny looks as you pop it into your mouth before dropping into a section. Easy to mould into your mouth: Boil your pan of water (and make yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea) - take off the boil for 30 seconds - drop mouth guard in for 90 seconds (at the end hold some hot tea or coffee in your mouth to prime your teeth) - remove mouth guard with slotted spoon - quickly run under the cold tap for a second or two - (swallow tea or coffee) put your mouth guard into your mouth and push in-line with your back teeth then push up on the front teeth - bite down hard and suck all the air out (like you are sucking a sour sweet) - using your fingers on the outside of your mouth push the guard gently against your teeth all the way around while still biting for 3 seconds - stop pressing with your fingers but still bite and wait like this for a few seconds (this lets your teeth relax, you don't want it mould with your teeth pushed back) - carefully pull the guard off your teeth straight down and straight into ice cold water - wait 2 minutes - try the fit, it should be perfect doing this way, it will hold your teeth without dropping out.

It is good for starting out as your first mouth guard, but the rubber is very hard and can hurt the top of your gums, and it’s very bulky and feels big in your mouth, would recommend as a starter mouth guard but would recommend getting another brand for rugby.

Easy to fit and long standing. Minimal issue even with the cold - would recommend to anyone that is looking for a well fitting easy to use guard

Really disappointed with this mouthguard. My advice dont waste your money as you can get custom made guards for as little as £30 or less with a discount code(look online for these) which you know will fit. Now for my review... i must say amazon were excellent as i ordered a shield in black as my son wears all black when boxing, The guard arrived and it was green. I contacted amazon via chat feature and explained the problem, I was sent a black one via next day del. free of charge and a link to get free postal voucher to send the green one back, in our case colour was important and amazon gave outstanding customer service. Now the mouthguard itself.... its really really bulky, no doubt it gives protection but its so bulky its ridiculous. The moulding....well we tried 15 times to get this thing to fit, a good tip is to suck your thumb while fitting it, suck so hard that it hurts and do this three times, all the clear gel was pushed up over the gums along with the other moulding maneuvers. It fits your teeth BUT when you take it out and after its cooled you try it back in and it wont stay in, it falls out way too easily. My son couldnt box safely in it so he was really p----- off and so was i. waste of money. May be a good name but its a rubbish guard from a good name. Only given the one star and amazon customer services earnt that one NOT shock doctor

As some other reviews have said this is quite small for an adult size but I only have a small jaw so I bought it. The instructions are clear but it took me a few goes to get it to fit properly but once I did then it was very comfortable. I wear it for Hockey and I hope I don't need to test whether it actually works but it certainly feels like it will at least help should the worst happen.

Sinceramente non ho mai lasciato una recensione ma devo ammettere che questo paradenti è straordinario sta su attaccato benissimo ai denti e senti una protezione SERIA della bocca. Sembra di essere passato da un paradenti per dilettanti ad uno per professionisiti

Excellent protège dents. Produit technique, convient aussi aux bouches larges. J'ai lu un commentaire dans lequel une personne se plaignait de la petite dimension du produit. C'est vrai que lorsqu'il arrive, il parait étroit et trop petit. Mais il s'adapte parfaitement lors de l'opération de chauffage puis de moulage. Attention à ne pas mordre trop fort lors de cette opération. Habitué aux anciens protège dents mono-densité, je n'ai pas pris en compte que la matière intérieure de celui-ci devient très molle une fois chauffée. Une étoile en moins car je crois qu'il existe des produits encore plus techniques, aussi dans cette même marque.

Het is heel Schock dempend wanneer iemand tegen je kaak slaat. ik heb dit product gebruikt in een tournament en werkt heel goed de pijn blijft niet zitten op 1 plaats. ik raad dit product wel aan, alleen het valt uit je mond als je je mond open doet.
