Simply a good collection of great Jimi Hendrix tracks spanning the few short creative years in the UK that Jimi Hendrix was around. Accompanied by a well written and researched booklet with recollections about each song, only goes to add an extra bonus to what are a collection of great songs. Probably few realised at the time what Jimi Hendrix was doing musically until he had gone, although those in the know at the time were inspired and amazed. Jimi Hendrix was ahead of his time and achieved a great sound with by today's standards, limited equipment, that only goes to show his amazing talent that sadly did not have the opportunity to be completely fulfilled, an almost 10 years on from Buddly Holly scenario. Whilst Buddy Holly in his 3 years recording made music still frequently played today, so with Jimi Hendrix, we find the same high regard and reverance for the talent so sadly cut short.

Perfect intro to Hendrix, highlighting his range of approaches and skills and what an underrated vocalist he was as well as genius guitar player.. Still sounds fresh and innovative now.

Ok, let's get the bad stuff out of the way first, as good as Jimi was I find it very hard to find recordings of his work that come anywhere up to todays standards. Unfortunately thats down to the recordings being made in the 1960's. That said theses sound reasonably good and there are a lot of favourites here. Little Wing is a favourite of mine but at less than three minutes I feel robbed, again there isn't anything that can be done about that. So enough to say enjoy this album for what it is, some of Jimi's best tunes, great playing and great feel good vibes. I was still at school when Voodoo chile came out as a single, I remember gripping my pocket money in my mitt and running down to the local record shop to buy it after school, it still sounds as good as ever. Jimi's recording life was just four short years, if you like fantastic guitar then you need this album in your life.

Un cd o vinile che non può mancare in nessuna collezione dei vostri dischi musicali preferiti, questo the best of offre sostanzialmente il meglio di uno dei chitarristi elettrici migliori di sempre. Che si ascolti rock, punk, grunge, pop questo album è un MUST HAVE per tutti, la chitarra di Jimmone è maledettamente attuale tutt'oggi in tutto. Da avere!

Excelente recopilatorio de Jimi Hendrix con sus 20 canciones más representativas. La masterización es muy buena y el sonido es de lujo, teniendo en cuenta que son canciones que tienen alrededor de 50 años. Muy recomendable tanto si te quieres iniciar en el universo de este fantástico músico, como si quieres tener reunidas un buen puñado de grandes canciones en un solo Cd. Escucharlo del tirón es una verdadera gozada.

An excellent anthology that features high quality remasters of 20 of Hendrix's most influential and best loved hits. The companion booklet provides interesting background info and tidbits on each song. The album is imported from Germany by Sony DADC. In my opinion, this is an essential addition to every Rock/Metal fan's CD collection.So if you aren't already....it's time to get experienced!!!
