OZtrail TASMAN 6V DOME TENT

Finally got to put this tent to use after a practise putting it up. Simple to assemble, even for one person. Stood well against the elements.

The tent is nice and big. My only problem was while erecting the tent. Insufficient information. Once we had figured out which side the porch was on the outer cover, we were unaware that the porch only fits on one side of the tent. There are only two extra mounting pins for the poles on one side of the base. You will need to purchase poles guide ropes and pegs if you want to use the porch. Also like every tent manufacturer the pegs are useless in the wind. I purchased aftermarket pegs 250mm x 6 mm.

I wanted a larger size than the Oztrail Genesis 3V dome tent I have loved and used for years (the 4V was still a little small for my needs). The compact size of the storage bag and the easy, quick set up are still as good as the Oztrail I’ve come to know and love. BUT - and maybe it’s my bad for not realising from the photos - there is only mesh for the entire inner layer! So if you want the annex flap rolled up out of the way or extended out on additional annex poles (like in the photos) you are left completely exposed to the elements/public. The entrance door panel needs two layers - a solid door and a mesh door. This has got to be the worst tent design I’ve ever encountered. Might be useful on the beach.

Tent is OK. Seemed to not leak with a bit of rain. Be aware the awning poles are not included. Not sure why you would have it on the picture on the bag and on the photos but not have them included
