How is this different to the olive oil drops? does it fizz and is more active?

Advised by doctor to use olive oil drops twice a day for two weeks and if that didn't work to use sodium bicarbonate drops twice a day for two weeks and then have ears stringed. Seemed to work well.

Do you have to use a syringe with this product?

No, just put the drops into your ears best time to do this is when you go to bed do not try to use any type of syringe on your own see your doctor

can this be used after olive oil has been used ?

I'm afraid I can't say. I can only tell you that I was prescribed these bicarb drops at a hospital and they worked wonders. The pharmacist there said using these drops would remove any and all debris in my ear and he was absolutely right. Use them for a few days and then syringe. I highly recommend these drops.

Why must this be discarded 28 day after opening ?

Because the action of the Bi-carb in the solution is not so effective after that length of time.
