Fantastic AVR, Denon deliver again. The best just got better!
The connectivity options are varied and very easy to set up. Integrated the RCD-M41 at the heart of my home cinema set up. Now it's the brains and control. Easy to switch between the various sources. For such a small unit it packs a real punch. The sound quality is amazing, although the SDB tone feature could have been best served with separate bass, treble and balance knobs rather than an integrated digital function via the remote. That said the sound is clear and concise rather than muddy like you'd expect from a single tone funcion switch. As I use the unit to control my home cinema, I've added a separate subwoofer and centre sound bar, further enhancing the dynamic range and sound of the RCD-M41. The Bluetooth connectivity is just brilliant. Using Bluetooth 5.0, connections are stable. Pairing with your relevant device: android phone, home projector, etc. is very quick and easy. Once paired that's it. When the unit is shut down and then switched on and Bluetooth connectivity is required again the RCD-M41 automatically connects to the selected device once more! The remote control is functional and sturdy and laid out very intuitively. There is even an alarm function within the clock settings. When set the RCD-M41 DAB radio switches on automatically at the designated time - awesome! I went for the black version as more in keeping with my minimilist home decor. So in conclusion if your looking for an affordable, all rounder, all in one AVR unit then you won't go wrong in choosing this beast. Performance is excellent. Connectivity is excellent. Looks fantastic and exceptional value for money.

Perfect for CD owners
I thought I'd wait a few weeks before posting a review, to test all the functions. If you really want to play your CD collection to a higher level of audio listening then this is at least the entry level of quality that you should decide upon. In a age of streaming and blue tooth, actually playing full audio files from CD, still really makes a difference on a Denon unit. The sound is what it should be from a CD and it is powerful enough for any room in any house. Far too many people think just because something is played loud it's good and it's not, they make the same mistake with turning up the base until you can feel you heart coming through your mouth and that is also a mistake. Whatever system you choose you need to always make sure the sound is balanced or you won't here a CD or track the way it was recorded. Sound only needs to be louder and louder, the bigger the space it has to fill and then you are supposed to be further away from the speakers not to get distortion or go deaf, or lose some hearing. There is no sound distortion from this unit. Controls feel easy to use and although there is no blue tooth to connect your headphones to, you can connect your equipment by blue tooth to play music through the unit and you can connect wired headphones to the unit. Now if you are going to bother to pay a decent amount of money for something like this to play your CD's well on, then every good music person knows, good quality wired headphones are a must. But at least you can play your music files from your phone via blue tooth and still get a good quality sound. If you do use something like your phone through blue tooth on this devise, make sure you switch off your automatic standby after 15 minutes on this unit, as the unit thinks you have stopped using it, so it's not a fault, you will need to read the instruction manual for that little tip. One draw back is fitting the speakers that come with the unit, they are good quality speakers, but I wish they would all stop using these wire ends, as they are a little bit tricky in getting the connection sorted on both speakers and sometimes you can think you have a faulty unit or speaker. It took me about twenty minutes to get both speakers working. I hope in the future they choose to move to plug in ends and not thin bits of wire on the end of the cables. Another plus for me is I still have a 25 CD Changer, which I can plug in using the White and Red cables, which works well with this unit. I have no issues with the DAB radio, my area is not too bad for reception. Although I did have to tune it for stations twice. If you don't want to compromise CD sound and listen to CD's the way you are supposed to hear the sound, in this age of compressed streaming and compressed files, then this unit is a must. Yes I know it does not have a USB port, but that's no big issue for me, because if you play anything that is not a CD on a unit like this anyway, the chances are it's a compressed file on your phone, so you will then use it like cheaper units that don't play CD's as well and accept the lesser quality of streaming and phone music files.

Excellent little unit
I use this in the bedroom which is also my study and place of refuge. I wanted a relatively small unit to provide background music when working or reading. I also like to listen in the evening through my reasonably decent headphones. The unit is attached to some fairly nondescript speakers from a previous system. Facilities - CD is quiet in operation - DAB works fine and I get plenty of stations using the supplied ariel. - FM reception can be a bit hissy but my previous device had the same problem. I am happy enough with DAB as I am not a purist. - Bluetooth works fine and useful. - Connections at the back are adequate for my needs. Two optical ports, 1 phono. I have a Chromecast audio plugged into one of the optical ports. There is also a sub-woofer port should you require one. - 3.5mm headphone socket at the front. - There is no USB but I don't miss it. - There are a couple of alarm clocks, one repeating and "one single shot" (as well as a sleep timer) in the system and I use these to rouse from slumber. You can get the system to tune to a radio channel or CD or any of the ports should you opt for some complex wake-up routine. - Automatically switches off if unused for about 30 minutes, e.g. the CD finishes or your Chromecast stops In operation - Build quality seems robust - Sound quality is very acceptable, even through my old, little speakers. Using my headphones I get much more detail. The sound is pleasantly forward, with clarity. - Remote is a little on the large side for my taste but fine nonetheless. Good value at its usual price (around £229). Even better if you find it at a significant discount!

Stunning piece of kit
I’ve been brought up thinking that stacking hi-fi separates are the epitome of quality for home use. So I was nervous going for a mini system but, having read good reviews about this product, I thought I’d take the plunge. I have not been disappointed. As a former employee in the radio industry, I was well aware of the reliability of the Denon name, so I wasn’t worried there. I did not need a record deck (although you can add one) but I did need a CD player and Bluetooth connector. My music of choice is Classical, so I wanted something that would be able to cope with extremes of dynamic and frequency, especially for organ and choral music. I have had this piece of kit for 2 months now, and it has excelled with everything I’ve thrown at it. It is extremely easy to use, although you might like to keep the manual handy when first using the DAB radio. The sound quality for radio, CD and Bluetooth is outstanding. I get excellent results listening to YouTube videos, although there is a slight time delay which makes the audio/video synchronisation slightly out, but the sound is better than you could hope from such a compressed source. The unit itself is small, compact and neat, with a clear-to-read display, and the remote control is of a decent size with nicely-spaced buttons.. Following the advice from reviews on a respected hi-fi web site, I have coupled the Denon D-M41DAB with a pair of Q Acoustics 3010i Compact Bookshelf Speakers. This setup is perfect for a medium-sized room, and I have not dared turn the volume to maximum.

5* performance and lots of features makes it (an almost!) perfect unit for bedroom/study.
For some years now, most of my music has been to HiRes files acquired from various (legal!) download sources such as 7Digital or CD/DVD sources ripped to FLAC files, these being stored on a Synology NAS server and streamed to my devices.. Soemt ime ago I acquired a Marantz Melody player to enable these to be played in our lounge via some floorstanding speakers. The Melody includes DAB/FM tuner, CD and other facilities so the old seperates I used to use (Sony A400 amp, Denon FM tuner, Cambridge DAB tuner, Sony CD player and Sony Casette deck) ended up in my study. This stack lived in a rather precarious position on top of a bookcase played through some spare Mission bookshelf speakers. Whilst this arrangement had no inherent ability to play streamed material from the NAS, my study's desktop PC - which has a high end (EVGA) soundcard - could play this stuff. Connecting this the old stack via optical cable provided excellent sound quality but at the expense of lots of space being occupied. I always intended that I would replace it. Following a rearrangement of my study and a near-disasterous fall of some of the old hifi stuff off the shelf I decided to take the plunge and acquire something more compact. Budget considerations restricted the choice and the Denon seemed to offer the best combination of performance and features for the money. I paid £289 which seemed a bargain and all those awards it has won helped finalise the decision. Sizewise this is very suitable my study...suddenly, I seem to have lots of space! Some reviews I read suggested that it performed better with the matched SC-M41 Denon speakers than with "other brands". I'm afraid that I wasn't prepared to fork out a further £100 or so to get these when the Mission speakers I had available had proven excellent when used with other kit. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and I find the Denon's sonic performance via the Mission units is excellent, the tonal balance I find especially impressive. So, full marks from me on sound quality. The SC-MC41 Denon speakers remain an unknown quantity for me but my experience with this and other Denon kit suggests this would be a purchase I would be happy with. The front panel controls are somewhat spartan and, as seems common these days, most features require use of the remote. Even the tone controls - if you need them - require the remote. Dont lose it or you will be lost! Some remote control features are fairly intuitive but one or two had me scurrying to download the full manual to figure out what to do - all that came with the unit BTW is a "quickstart" guide. Actually, unless you peruse the full manual you might overlook the existence of some of the unit's features. There are an adequate set of inpuits/outputs. There are optical (two) and analogue (single) inputs and a sub-woofer output in addition to a pair of speaker outputs and Aerial connections . Earlier models of this unit used to sport a USB input but this has gone. There is a Bluetooth input facility so if you want to play stuff from your smartphone it seems to comply with the latest Bluetooth Audio profiles so it turns in a decent perfomance. I was a little dissappointed to find that there is no Bluetooth output (I misread the spec sheet to be perfectly honest) so I can't listen to the unit via my Audio Technica Bluetooth headphones. This is not a huge loss, more an occasional inconvenience...........Bluetooth range from my study is just sufficient to allow me to listen in the bath. I just wish there were some networking capability -WiFi, Ethernet. This would allow streaming from a NAS or whatever. It would also have allowed the possibility of Denon being able to offer software upgrades and perhaps app alternatives to the physical remote. This lack poses the only significant drawback for me. I can get round this defieciency easily enough to be fair. I also have to admit that including such features would make this a somewhat different product. Perhaps I should have bought another Marantz Melody (or similar product) but as this would have been twice as much (or more), I can't really complain. Overall, the Denon is a great buy and well worth the money.

Reasonable price, great kit
Simple. I needed a quality cd player with a headphone amplifier built in. This is for me to get lost in the music I love. I also bought some decent but not crazily priced headphones. The test was Led Zeppelin IV and Yes, Close to the Edge. They sounded fantastic. The detail that the kit provides is excellent, without messing around with graphic equalisers like we used to do. Hear the sounds as the artist intended. Great for old prog rockers!

Nice delivery... Eventually.
Welcome my new kitchen radio, all of a sudden my KEF C1 speakers sound amazing this Denon rcd-m41dab is quality. It's replaced an Onkyo cr-515dab which I also bought from richer sounds (not via Amazon that time) It was great (I thought) for about 15 years but the Denon is outstanding. Bluetooth brilliant! Oh.... Absolutely very very nice... But please knock or ring on the door next time. I was on tenter hookks all day and then delivery driver didn't knock hard enough.... 😩

Much better than expected
I love this all in one system, The CD player is in my opinion comparable with my Marantz CD6007 for sound quality and the amplifier has more than enough volume for normal households with the volume control steps more as they should be with less of a distance than most other amplifiers between each step meaning it is far easier to attain the correct listening level. The tone is clear making voices much easier to understand whether singing or talking. The Bluetooth was a doddle to set up too, connecting to my phone and MP3 player within ten seconds of turning each of them on, separately, of course. The DAB tuner (radio) when coupled to the roof aerial connects to all available stations in your area but a word of advice, if you wish to connect to your roof aerial you will also need to order an F type plug to RF fly lead to connect to the Denon's screw type aerial connector, easier than it sounds. This Denon also has two optical connectors for if you want to connect your TV, or whatever else which it handles with equal vigour as it does when playing music through any of it's playing formats or modes. In use, in this day age of ever increasing energy prices more companies should advertise just how much power their machines use but this Denon RDCM 41 DAB only uses, according to my own in home energy usage monitor 17 watts of electricity but I don't know how they measures usage but looking at the official online manual that says it uses 70 watts of electricity which in my book is still very good indeed. We have ours on everyday listening to all different formats from tuner from around 9am through to switching to the MP3 player using Bluetooth during the afternoon, then to watching the TV and listening to the sound through the optical connection after about 5pm till about 11pm when it can then get a well deserved rest till the next day, everyday so it gets a lot of usage. The quality of sound from this all in one system is phenomenal, there's no wonder it has won so many awards, it certainly gets my vote.

Face the sound veri professionisti. Denon qualità top
Venditore molto affidabile.
