Does not bond rubber as described
I bought this product expecting it to bond rubber as the description claims, but it doesnโt work at all. I tried it on several rubber surfaces, and there was no adhesion whatsoever. Very disappointing and misleading โ itโs not suitable for rubber, despite what the listing says.

Appears to have worked well
The product I hoped for, at a price I could afford, available timely, in a modest quantity that I hoped for. The translucent product had a light, smooth consistency and went on easily with scant odor. A few hours after my first experience of the product, it is thus far performing about how I hoped. As applied, I estimate that it might be slightly more rigid than the thin silicone substrate I mended. The adhesive tacked up in about 5 minutes and was durable to my light handling after about 20 minutes. Subjectively, Iโm not sure if you would say the adhesive dried clear, or if you would continue to call it somewhat translucent; perhaps in between. Application technique may have some impact on perception of that.

The Gold Standard for Silicone Repairs โ Strong, Flexible Bond That Actually Works
Smooth-On SIL-Poxy is easily one of the best adhesives available for repairing silicone. If you're working with silicone props, FX pieces, or wearable silicone items, this is essentially the industry standard. I used it to repair a large tear in the mouth area of a silicone FX mask, and the bond held extremely well once cured. The repair blended nicely and restored the integrity of the material. I also used it to fix a couple of small rips in a silicone bodysuit that occurred from putting it on and taking it off, and it handled those repairs without any issues. The adhesive cures quickly, forms a strong, flexible bond, and is specifically designed for silicone-to-silicone repairs, which most standard glues simply cannot handle. It does require a bit of patience and precision during application since silicone adhesives can be messy if overapplied, but once you get the hang of it, it works incredibly well. Overall, this is the gold standard for silicone repair products. If you need to fix silicone masks, props, or wearable silicone pieces, SIL-Poxy is one of the most reliable options available.

Great product, Worked Ahmazing, TY
Bought my daughter her most expensive yet, Full silicone babydoll. She had it over a year, takes very good care of her. We had a party a bit ago and some other kids were throwing her all over, back n forth, etc playing. Not realizing that even though she was soft, she could still be "broken" or "ripped". I took her away and later we accessed the damage. She had a huge rip across her neck, under each arm and each leg. In essence, we had to make sure that we kept her limbs and head from seperating. I did some research, this silpox came highly recommended so followed the directions in two stages due to depth of the tears by the third day we had smoothed it overand let her set one more time. She is about as close to new as she can get after that, I tugged a lil on each area, no stress so far. Ty for this product! It stinks horribly when its activating with the silicone but the ending result is Ahhhmazing. So grateful. :) If you need it, dont hesitate but follow steps to a T.

Adhesion Depends on Type of Silicone
I tested this using 2 different types of flexible o-rings. One was black and the other clear. While the black is flexible, the clear one has more flexibility to it. This Sil-poxy worked very well on the black one. After fully curing I put a good bit of stress pulling and flexing that ring. (This manufacturer's website by the way says to fully cure/dry 24 hours rather than the 12 minutes the tube says.) The clear ring, however, did not hold at all. It seemed a little sticky before fully curing so I had high hopes, but after fully drying it simply fell right apart and the cured sil-poxy slid right off it. I tried this a few times, even trying to first clean/abrase the clear one with alcohol, then tried heat, and even tried treating it first with sliicone lubricant known to "melt" these. Nothing worked -- this sil-poxy just slips right off the clear one. So bottom line, it works well for some but not all types of silicone.
