Powerful, significant and instant benefits
I don't have to tell a detailed story to explain to anyone in the UK the struggles of winter weather. Cold, grey and miserable despite my best attitude possible.I actually thought the benefits of this would be a placebo. Anyone who's familiar with the Only fools and horses episode when Del is selling the infrared massage gun, I had the same expectations...Glad to say I was totally wrong and I've been blown away for a number of reasons. Firstly it's well packaged and very well made and turned off it even looks good, it's very smart looking.Secondly it's VERY bright. You know, you almost expect when you buy a bright white bulb off Amazon to find it to be bright yet I was still surprised. I'd much rather it be bright than not bright enough so if you're worried it won't be powerful enough don't, Stevie Wonder would know when I turn it on.I'd say within 45 seconds and I adjusted to the intensity I felt 50% more awake and I knew why this made sense as a purchase. In the summer I go outside first thing and the sun wakes me up and I'm ready for the day, my Lumie light is just a replacement during the winter months. I had a significant and noticeable difference in how I felt. I found it best for a few hours in the morning before the dark grey sky turns a slightly lighter grey, off during the day when I'm awake and I turn it back on from 4pm onwards until about 8PM when I'd like to be tired.Overall it's very pleasant, takes 5 minutes to adjust and you can carry on with whatever you're doing feeling significantly more awake, alert and honestly, happier.I've gone into length here with the aim of helping someone else solve their own winter blues, trust me give it a go for a day or so you can always return it.

Shedding Some Light on Lumie Vitamin L: A Slim Solution for S.A.D Sufferers
I don't know about you, but I've always been a bit skeptical of products that claim to cure the winter blues. So when I heard about the Lumie Vitamin L Slim Light Box, I was more than a little dubious. I mean, how could a little box of light make me feel happier and more energized during the darkest months of the year? But let me tell you, this thing works! I started using the Lumie Vitamin L a few weeks ago, and I've already noticed a difference in my mood. I used to feel like a grumpy bear in hibernation during the winter months, but now I actually feel like a somewhat functioning member of society. It's like someone turned on a switch in my brain and suddenly I'm not as gloomy and lethargic as I used to be.The slim design of the Lumie Vitamin L is perfect for those of us with limited space. It fits easily on my desk or bedside table, and I can even take it with me when I travel. So now I can get my daily dose of light therapy no matter where I am. I even tried using it while watching TV, and let me tell you, it's a real game changer. Who knew that a little box of light could make Netflix and chilling even better? But my favorite thing about the Lumie Vitamin L is that it's so easy to use. There are no complicated settings or buttons to figure out. You just plug it in, press the power button, and bask in the glow of its warm light. It's like having a little slice of sunshine right in your own home.Of course, I do have a few minor complaints about the Lumie Vitamin L. For one, the light can be a bit intense if you're not used to it. I made the mistake of staring directly at it for too long and ended up with spots in front of my eyes. Lesson learned: don't stare into the light like you're auditioning for a role in a horror film.Overall, I would highly recommend the Lumie Vitamin L Slim Light Box to anyone suffering from the winter doldrums. It's a simple, effective, and oh-so-bright way to chase away the blues. Just don't forget to wear sunglasses if you decide to get up close and personal with it. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Brilliant
Brilliant SAD lamp.Holy moly this thing is bright. It massively helped me during the winter and is super easy to use. Itโs too bright to have facing you head on, but off to the side works really well. Keep mine on my filing cabinet, next to my desk, so Iโve got some light whilst working. Doesnโt take up a lot of room, very easy to assemble and operate. Looks very sleek.

Happy not SAD
I only used it for the first time today - so I can't give full stars for results as yet. It's very bright - very - I had to turn it towards the wall for that sunshine day effect without glare, but am sure I can read the manual and adjust it suitably. I am bereaved of my Mum by about four weeks, so have almost been embracing the grey mornings, but this snapped me into a bit of action today, mostly that I could see cobwebs in corners and needed to have a dust around. It'll keep me a bit more 'sunny' until Spring now.Good value for money as 33 percent off at time of buying - full price....not sure if it's worth that. It's certainly a good quality and easily moved around. I'm glad it's mains plug and not those silly USB plugs, as I've already got about 100 other things plugged in that way.So - good purchase? Yes, I'm happy and not SAD.

Possible solution to winter depression
So my friends around me were talking about this SAD light therapy, which I was quite skeptical about and so was my partner. He's from Brazil and we used to live in Ireland and now in UK, every winter he'd become super depressed despite high dose of Vitamin D and all the multivitamins. So I was thinking maybe let's just give it a try since my friend around me was praising it, and to be honest, I was quite put off by its ....not so appealing design, pretty much like putting an iPad on the side. I bought him this as a new year present. He used it for a week, he kept it on all the time while he's working from home, and even just after one week, he slept better, his mood had just got better (bear in mind that the weather has been gloomy and rainy these days), and he felt he was a different person. =) Def worth a try for those that always become a sad depressed creature during winter time despite taking high dose of Vitamin D.

A Portable Solution for Seasonal Mood Boost, with Caveats
Lumie Vitamin L: A Portable Solution for Seasonal Mood Boost, with CaveatsThe Lumie Vitamin L promises to be a convenient and effective light therapy solution for those battling seasonal affective disorder (SAD) or winter blues. Its slim and portable design allows users to incorporate light therapy into their daily routines, whether at home, work, or college. One of the standout features of the Lumie Vitamin L is its impressive 10,000 lux brightness at a distance of 20 cm, which is the recommended exposure time for addressing SAD symptoms. The cool white LED lights, combined with the rippled diffuser, provide a soft and comfortable lighting experience, making it easy to use for extended periods. As a certified medical device (class 2a), the Lumie Vitamin L offers peace of mind regarding its safety and efficacy. Additionally, its energy-efficient and UV-free design ensure a eco-friendly and healthy light therapy experience, backed by a 3-year warranty. However, it's important to note that the Lumie Vitamin L is not a one-size-fits-all solution. While the 20 x 28 cm surface area is generous, some users may find it too small or lacking in customization options to meet their specific needs. Furthermore, the effectiveness of light therapy can vary from person to person, and some individuals may require more intensive treatment or a combination of approaches to manage their seasonal affective disorder.Overall, the Lumie Vitamin L is a promising light therapy option for those seeking a portable and user-friendly device to combat the effects of winter blues and SAD. Its medical-grade certification, energy efficiency, and warranty provide added assurance, but users should manage their expectations and consider their individual requirements before making a purchase.

The lamp really makes a difference
I tend to get low mood in the winter months, especially if I'm somewhere with small windows, so I've long suspected that I have some form of seasonal depression related to the short daylight hours. I've wanted to try a lamp like this for a while and could finally afford it.I turned it on in the afternoon as soon as it arrived, when it was already starting to get dark outside. I noticed an immediate difference - the sort of feeling you get when you walk outside from a dark house into stark daylight, the way your eyes adjust and it feels like something in the edges of your mind is waking up. For me, it's very distinct, the feeling I get from having this lamp on. A sort of energy, in a way, or a kind of relief. Having this next to you is like being next to a very small window on an intensely bright day.I customarily sit around a metre away from the lamp, but I leave it on pretty much all day. I turn it on as soon as I'm done showering in the morning, and then turn it off between 8 and 9pm in the evening. The only day I've experienced inexplicable low mood in the weeks since I got it was the day I didn't use it. I have ADHD which means I get sleepy much later than most people, but I think this lamp helps me get tired at a more sensible hour of the day too.Not sure if it's related, but I've had three pretty spectacular writing weeks since I started using this. Usually I average 3 to 7 thousand words a week, but at the moment it's about that much daily. I've had an incredibly productive time. Most of that's hyperfocus, but I'm willing to give the lamp some credit for keeping me in the right headspace. It's very easy to use, you just plug it in and switch it on. I kind of wish I could buy more cables for it so as to be able to move it around the house easily.Edit: a year later, I still love this thing and consider it invaluable for winter. It's to the point where if I notice I'm feeling unusually depressed my first instinct is to plant this lamp right next to my face and turn it on. Fifteen minutes of very close light usually sorts me out.

Fabulous, comforting and effective
I spent hours researching specifications, published scientific research, and user reviews as I was not familiar with light therapy lamps before wanting to help a friend with depression. Although I have myself struggled for years with getting up in the morning, especially in December and January, it had never occurred to me that it could be helped. I was actually looking for a lamp to try to help my friend, but having decided on the Vitamin L, because of the company's reputation, the neat design of the lamp, and current deal price, I wanted to try it myself first. I can affirm that I felt more energised and much happier, even by day 3 of 30-45 mins a day in front of my new light. The light is a wonderful warm light which is not too bright and really does feel like you are bathed in sunshine and that alone is enough to lift one's spirits on gloomy mornings or evenings. After using it just once or twice, I literally felt like I wanted to be near my light to make me happier, and I am often a sceptic of such ideas. I also decided to order a medium round SAD light from another well known company, intending to give one of them to my friend and keep the other, as I would have liked a dimmer function. However, I found the other light was steady when on the higher settings, but had an intermittent flicker on the dimmer settings, and for me, although it seemed a little brighter than the Lumie, it was too cool white for me. That one might serve the same purpose, but the Lumie Vitamin L is a joy to use, looks very smart and really works. I would not hesitate to recommend it, and on the basis of my experience in the first week of using it, I am now looking to buy a wake-up lamp as well.
