I am going to be 67 this month and I still have plenty of hair. I have soft and fine hair. I did notice that my hair was thinning but this is not the reason that I am using this product. My issue was dandruff. I had dandruff and it comes and goes. It gets bad when the weather is dry. My dandruff is gone after I use this Castor Oil. I just add this Castor Oil to my shampoo. The mixture is 15% to 20% Castor Oil and the rest shampoo. There is nothing extra I have to do, I just let my shampoo soaks on my hair a little longer when I shower. I also notice that I have less fallen hair on my shower floor. So, this probably helps my thinning hair but I could not verify this. Personally, I am happy that I just get rid of my dandruff. This is a bonus that if it helps my thinning hair.BTW Minoxidil does work for growing hair, a few of my friends got good results but when Minoxidil dries, it would become a fine power. So, this would be like dust on the hair. In my case, this adds to my dandruff issue.Update: I have been traveling and I changed my habit of premixing shampoo and castor oil as I rather take a small bottle of castor oil instead of a big bottle of shampoo. For the last few weeks, I have been putting regular shampoo on my hair and then add about half a tea spoon of castor oil to the hair. I would first rub the hair with the shampoo and then add the castor oil and rub it with the shampoo. I just noticed that when I combed back my hair, there is noticeable short fussy hair at my hairline. This is what I can see as they are at the edge, I have a feeling that I have these short hairs growing somewhere else on my head. I am pretty sure these are new growth as these are at different length with the surrounding hair.I was not able to verify that this castor oil grows hair but I can now. I use it for getting rid of my dandruff but this actually grows more hair.
