Hyperkin 60 to 72 Pin Adapter for Famicom Compatible with NES

When I tried this out I thought I had a defective one because it would just sit there flashing the title screen on and off like the NES lockout chip was not detected. So I sat there thinking about the card that came in the package saying for non-north american NES hit reset 4 to 8 times to set region and that fixed it seems it was not preset to US NES system out of the box. It works great for my uses just have to keep in mind to check the games I buy for it now don't have that extra audio chip.

Very happy with this. Now able to play my Famicom disks on my 55 inch tv without those annoying lines (vs thru the RF on this tv)

I purchased this Hyperkin Famicom to NES 60 to 72 pin adapter to play a few Famicom carts I have in my front loading NES. It fits in the system right, but the amount of time wasted trying to get a game to load is a joke. Attach a Famicom game in the adapter upside down, then slide the adapter with game into the system. Spend 2-3 minutes turning the system on and off adjusting the position of them just slightly to try and get a game running. If you want to swap out games you have to do the same process all over again every time. It was apparent within the first hour of having it that the Hyperkin adapter was terrible. That evening I went ahead and ordered the "My Arcade Cartridge Converter - Famicom to NES Game Cartridge Adapter" [ AISN:B07NHHSLG8 ]. That adapter looks more like a US NES cart and fits the system better. First try my Famicom carts worked, every time. The only downside to the My Arcade Cartridge Converter is the few longer Famicom carts won't fit in it. This Hyperkin adapter was sent back for a refund.

Product attaches to the cart, goes in, and just works. Even with my NES having a bit of a death grip the pull ribbon actually makes it much easier to remove the cart. Another reviewer said it has some slight issues with expansion audio (like FDS) which has a small mod for it. If you have no use for that then this is perfect out the gate. Otherwise that minor mod mentioned will get the job done.

The main difference between this adapter and the one that it clones, The Honey Bee, is that Hyperkin opted not to bevel the edges of the internal PCB that makes contact with your system's cartridge connector. What does that mean? The squared-off edges of the adapter board are rougher on your system on insertion. It takes more force to insert this adapter than a regular game. Over time this has the potential to put more wear on your cartridge slot than were the boards beveled on both sides. Look at all of your NES/Famicom game edges, and compare to the edge of this adapter. You can see (and feel) the difference. Same thing with their competitor, My Arcade's, adapter. If you're in the market for a Honey Bee knock-off for under $20, this is your solution, but you get what you pay for. The Honey Bee is still out there, until Hyperkin and My Arcade revise their PCBs I suggest you spend a little more for something built better.

Have a couple dozen famicom games but don’t want to deal with hooking up the famicom to play them, so I picked this up. Biggest issue is it’s not clear anywhere that the games have to be inserted backwards(label down on original NES, label back on top loader). There’s at least one 1* review that I saw posted that could have been avoided with actual instructions in the box Once I figured that out, tested a few games and it seems to work nicely. Audio may be a little quiet, but not awful

I have a few Famicom games up my sleeve, ant this thing here converts them perfectly for my Classicq NES. On odd quirk is that you have to put the cartridges in backwards for it to work, but that's hardly a thing to complain about.

So far this item works great. No problems at all.

Maravilloso producto, el adaptador funciona perfectamente y es ideal para jugar tus juegos de FAMICOM en tu consola nes original o clones. (funciona en conslas de diversas marcas, yo lo estoy usando en un Retron hd también de Hyperkin) El adaptador funciona a la primera(siempre y cuando tus cartuchos FAMICOM o similares estén en buenas condiciones y limpios) el material es plástico de muy buena calidad, no se siente chafa ni nada por el estilo, así mismo bloquea el código regional de los juegos japoneses para también poderlos jugar en consolas NES europeas, trae un instructivo pequeñito que te explica lo que tienes que hacer si tu consola es europea. El adaptador merece un diez definitivo... la mejor opción en el mercado. NOTA: es importante que coloques tus cartuchos FAMICOM de la forma correcta, es decir, con la portada hacia atrás, de lo contrario no funcionará el adaptador. No comprendo la función de insertar los cartuchitos al revés, pero en los antiguos adaptadores ochenteros también era necesario hacerlo de esta manera, así que supongo que HYPERKIN reprodujo esa especificación para hacernos sentir más nostálgicos aún...

Qualidade do produto é excelente. Os contatos são banhados a ouro, o encaixe do cartucho é firme e preciso e funciona muito bem nos famiclones de época, como o Phantom System (Gradiente) e Turbo Game (CCE). Esse último não precisa de adaptador pois é Dual System, mas testei pra ver como o adaptador encaixava no console. Funciona muito bem! Recomendo!!

This product works great. I have an older Honey Bee Converter for my original NES Deck, that didn't work on my HYPERKIN RetronHD (NES Clone system), so I ordered this and I can now play my Famicom games on my HYPERKIN system. The product works for what it was designed for and I haven't encountered any problems so far (it was a little touchy but it seems that being 'touchy' is a recurring theme with all Famicom to NES converters).
