How long will they keep in first aid box?

The date on mine which I recently bought say April 2026.

Are they wet on top? Do they need to be used with gauze or other type dressings too? Do they stay put or do they move?

They should be loosely covered by a gauze bandage to keep them in place. They feel slimy rather than wet. They really do work to stem long term damage from burns.

Some folk are saying a few hours, others are saying you can get a couple of days out of them, which is it?

I recommend they should be changed every day.

From description & igredients...it looks like it's just a square sponge soaked with 10% alcohol solution?

The ingredients are very basic, and it is mostly water, but most importantly, it works. When you are in the pain that I was in after burning the whole of my palm and fingers on a saucepan, anything that gives immediate relief is truly amazing. My neighbour came running over to me with one of these after hearing that I needed help and that it was still very bad even after having my hand in cold water for half an hour. The foam rubber is so cushioning and comfortable once a bandage is holding it in position and the continuing relief from the burn was wonderful. The following morning, when I checked it, the pad had completely dried out with just the foam rubber left but fortunately Amazon soon delivered a pack for me that i had ordered the previous evening. 100% recommended to have in the house, just in case.
