Isn't this just Brasso yetvunder a new name???

Well it smells different but all metal polishes work in the same way - a cutting compound in suspension - I presume some are better than others at dealing with harder metals and that is determined by which product they contain which does the cutting. I was recommended this product to polish the chrome straps on a watches and it works well. Brasso is great on Brass and soft metals but doesn't seem so good on harder materials and alloys.

Can this be used to polish nickel taps? My taps used to have a brilliant shine and now they’re dull
