SoundRacer : V8

The first delivered Soundracer only worked for 2 days but was replaced very quickly and the new one is still going strong. The sound is terrific and takes me back to the time when I raced a Chevrolet Corvette on British circuits. Precious memories folks!!

First one was great. Friend wanted one so gave it to him. Bought a second one. But not working well. Posible Not suited for my new 2014 skoda 1.2 turbo vw engine.

it 'works' but not as well as you would hope. Specifically it looses synch with my cars RPM and the sound quality is disappointing ( I have an expensive Pioneer head unit after market speakers and a sub woofer in my car )

Bought as a stocking-filler for fellow petrol-head cousin, so thought it would be worth a try for a laugh. Tunes in quickly and easily, but not very convincing, and that's with a pretty good FM stereo setup (appreciated, not the total point, but...). The main problem is that synchronisation with the ignition system is poor - lags behind gear shifts, but - and that's when the beginnings of a smile disappeared - has a will of its own stopped at lights or at a junction. It free-wheels up the rev scale, becoming an annoying and potentially dangerous distraction, as you can't tell what the real engine's up to. Certainly, well over-priced for the result, and isn't very robust. One of my lower scores, I'm afraid. Looks like cousin will be getting something else for better value.

This is a fun little gizmo. It plays the sound of a throaty V8 engine which revs in time with your own car's revs, the sound comes out through your car stereo. The sound quality is iffy at times (although maybe it's my car stereo?), at low revs you can tell it is digital and it doesn't always keep-up with gear changes too well (at least not with a DSG gearbox). It can be misleading if it's not calibrated itself properly, in that you can't hear the revs of your own car so you change-up too late or too early. The V12 sounds better in my opinion. In summary, it is an amusing distraction and it would probably make a fun present for fathers day or for someone who drives a rep-mobile. Probably not good for fuel economy though (you can't help thrashing your car with one of these in).

the product arrived fast, takes about 30 seconds to start up when ur car is running, there is 2 beeps which tells u its on. fantastic for a laugh. sometimes i have to give it 3500 revs until it starts up, other times it starts up on low revs. but as it is reading the alternator and sending it to the speakers, it works great. very pleased.

Terrible, just terrible. Doesn't work (tried multiple vehicles), sounds awful.
