Great egg poacher which if used properly works better than poaching pans
After several months and after finding these to be a good way to poach eggs I purchased a second set to give to my daughter. Used correctly these work. I found that the cups worked as good as if not better than a poaching pan when a) the cups were slightly greased before putting the egg in (this you must do with the egg holder of a pan) b) the cup is just resting on the bottom of a pan in water and on the point of floating on the water c) The pan has a pan lid - without a pan lid the egg will not poach - all poaching pans have pan lids so this is not a surprising requirement. d) The water is not boiled vigorously. The water needs to be steaming and at boiling point not burbling and being over-boiled If you vigorously boil the water it will boil/splash over into the poaching cup and on to the top of the egg. In a poaching pan the water is separated from the top of the egg holder by the holder shelf but even in a poaching pan the water does not need to boil vigorously. Do this and your egg will poach NOTE I like my eggs poached hard. The above works for that. I cannot comment on soft poached eggs. The poached eggs are not always slippy loose in these cups but can be easily removed whole by skimming a knife blade around the perimeter to loosen the suction. - this is the same as when using a poaching pan, often the egg is not slippy loose in the pans cup and needs to be teased out of the poaching pan cup. So there is no difference between these and a poaching pan An advantage of these cups is that 1) you can cook as many or as few eggs as you need - with a poaching pan often they have 4 cups and to poach properly all 4 cups must be in place. 2) if you are careful you can poach an egg in the same pan as you are cooking some other thing (in water naturally) - provided of course you put a lid on the pan. I have cooked rice and poached an egg at the same time by carefully floating the cup in the water. The cups wash well in a dishwasher. When putting in a dishwasher I found turning the cups inside out facilitated cleaning.

Excellent product
Excellent, very simple and do the job perfectly. 5 minutes once the water starts to boil and you get perfect poached eggs.

Absolutely brilliant !
Finally, after years of trying different ways to cook a decent poached egg, I've come across these brilliant little gadgets. So simple to use, just grease the insides with a little oil, pop the egg into these bright coloured silicon pockets which the grandchildren love choosing. Place them into a pan in about an inch of boiling water, pop a lid on and wait a few minutes. Perfect eggs, easy to get out and really easy to clean. Fabulous. Definitely recommend . Great next next delivery.

Slow in-pan poaching
Bought these to replace my rather old hard plastic microwave egg poacher (which now is primarily useful only as an egg exploder), and I thought I would try them on the hob first. After 10 minutes of boiling, the eggs were only around 2/3rds cooked, so I lost patience and put them in the microwave to finish them off. No egg explosions (improvement) but the eggs were a little stuck to the silicone moulds on removal. Otherwise cooked fine. If you are using a pan, save the faff (and time) and just boil the eggs. Item works, but a little less effectively as maybe the ad may suggest.

Doesn’t poach eggs. Thrown away.
Egg Poacher Cups (4 Pack) With Base Ring I was hopeful these would make poaching eggs easier, but eggs tended to stick to the sides and the result was more like boiled eggs without shells. Pros: • Convenient size and design Cons: • Eggs stick, making cleaning difficult • Results not true poached eggs Eventually discarded due to lack of use

Great purchase!
There are a lot of mixed reviews for these cups, but at £5.99 I thought I'd take the risk. Didn't work so great first time, but second day worked perfectly as you can see in the picture. I poured a drop of cooking oil into one, rubbed it in then drained the oil into the next cup and repeated. I cooked them on a simmer for 6 minutes. When I lifted them out, the eggs stated to come loose on their own, and I used my spoon to help them out. Minimum effort, eggs didn't stick or burst so cleaning up is easy as there is no egg white stuck to the cup. The eggs were firm on the outside yet the yolk was runny. On top of that, I don't need to clean the pot like I used to and there's no egg wasted. I highly recommend these for poached egg lovers!

Really good
Great little egg poachers these. I rate them but knocked one star off for a slight annoyance. I feel they could be a little bigger or deeper as occasionally if you say like an extra large egg you can spill a tiny bit of egg in the water. Quick tip if you do. Get the eggs out and start all over again with your water otherwise it will ruin you eggs. I also recommend using a spray oil in these before cooking your eggs too to stop with any sticking. Use a lid on your pan too.. Otherwise great product and I would buy them again.

These are absolutely the best way to poach an egg. Its so easy, you get perfect results each time and there is almost nothing to cleanup. I do my eggs for 5:10 which is nearly 2 mins longer than I did with my old poacher but results are perfect.

These were great. I bought 8 of them. We experimented with olive oil in some and cooking spray in others. The cooking spray worked perfectly. The olive oil was acceptable as well, but a wee bit stickier. I also liked that these create eggs that are a little bit wider than the kind you get out of one of those pans made for poached eggs (that's what I was replacing.) These fit an english muffin a little better than those other types. I am very happy and would buy them again if I needed more. Also great to not have a single use pan taking up a bunch of space in my cabinets.

Jajaja
