EXACTLY what I needed!
This is EXACTLY as described and it works beautifully! I am 75 - female - NO PROBLEM with assembly. The instructions are VERY EASY to follow. I had it together in NO TIME! It is STURDY and I had the best night's sleep with the sheets off my feet! What a pleasure! The one I had was too short for my new mattress and this fits the bill PERFECTLY. It is STRONG and spacious so there is plenty of room. I HIGHLY recommend this item - I just wish I had purchased it a long time ago!

This one works!
The sturdy design of this tubular steel blanket holder is able to bear the weight of my several flannel blankets and a bedspread. Unlike the wire one I tried, this one does not topple, slide to the side or otherwise collapse under my multi-layered bed covers. I have it set at the lowest height and my toes do not have to come in contact with my covers. The frame was easy to assemble (though the instructions were no help at all) and the spring-loaded buttons all functioned well. Only one of the six tubular pieces had any rust, and it was superficial. Overall, this was an excellent purchase, and $20 less than I saw this item in a medical supply catalog.

Works Well, But...
Instructions should include diagrams. Finger-tightening results in a very flimsy unit until it's placed between the mattress and platform/boxspring--then it's great. I'm very impressed with the height of the unit. Wish it was a little wider, but, with two people in bed, if only one needs it, it's great. Unless you use an extremely long sheet/blanket/comforter over the unit, your feet won't be fully covered. To have my feet fully covered, I first place a throw over the unit, which hangs to the platform/boxspring and then I place my covers over the throw. This ensures no air gets through to my feet. What I hadn't considered, before purchasing the unit, is, to make up my bed normally each day, the unit must be removed and stored (somewhere) and then placed back everyday. I love it for what it is intended to do, but, before trying it, you may want to consider 1) bed/room aesthetics, 2) how it may change your daily bed-making, and 3) pre_determining a daily storage area for it.

My feet/toes are so happy & pain free!
Sue here. As you can see by the attached pictures our little chihuahua loves this blanket lifter. This is what we found when we left the bedroom and returned 5 minutes later. I have been using a homemade lifter I crafted from Dollar Tree foam core board but it took a beating as I kicked it in the night or my husband said on the edge of the bed and crushed it so I decided to replace it with the real thing. I'm a frugal gal so I looked at every unit I could find and this one seem to be the most durable. I think I made a good choice. All of the necessary hardware was included (bolts and locking nuts) so all I needed to pull for my toolbox was a Philips head screwdriver and a socket driver to lightly tighten them after everything was assembled. It went together lickety split and fits at the foot of the mattress on my adjustable bed behind the bar that keeps the mattress from flying off when I adjust the bed. I just wish that it was a little wider and had some way of securing the blanket and sheet on top so that they don't slide down but I will have to find some way to do that myself. My mattress is a little thicker than standard size and I have the lifter adjusted to the lowest level with plenty of room for my size 8 feet. Since I have a lot of problems with internal temperature control due to the fibromyalgia I need to wear socks at night because with all that airspace my feet do get chilly. It's small price to pay to rid myself of painful toes from the blankets touching them. And as you can see our little dog is enjoying this as much as I am. This product is well made, easy to assemble, and has changed the way my feet feel.

Works great
Holds up a heavy comforter with no problems. This was my biggest concern. Fairly easy to move along the bottom of the bed so I can sleep on different parts of the mattress easily. I have a really thick mattress and I'm still able to adjust it well above my feet. Nice wide space so it's not hard to stay in the free space. The only difficulty I haven't figured out yet is keeping the blanket from moving up on the backside and letting cold air in. I tuck it in under the mattress but because the mattress is so thick I can only get a few inches under.

BEST BLANKET LIFTER I'VE EVER FOUND!!!!
This blanket lifter is A GODSEND!!! I bought this for my mom who has Parkinson's disease (PD). She has, actually I should say HAD a very difficult time sleeping. Her PD has affected her legs and feet in that she has a lot of pain and her feet and toes would cramp and the blanket/sheet weight only exacerbated the problem. I've purchased other blanket lifters and they all were flimsy and after only a week or two, would begin to collapse under the weight of the blanket. *Please note that the blanket used is average weight. We were so thrilled when we opened the box to find that it was a very durable steel product that was incredibly easy to assemble. It adjusts to accomodate different sizes of mattresses, foot size, etc. From the very first night, mom has slept comfortably and was not bothered once by the cover laying on her toes/feet!!!! It is holding up perfectly and I do not anticipate that to ever be an issue. THANK YOU RBD HEALTH for such a great product and especially for helping my sweet mother to get a better nights sleep and helping to ease her pain and discomfort!

Workable but not very well built
We don't have a box springs mattress, so we needed to move the two ends as close together as possible. Unfortunately, the tubes were not designed so that they can actually reach the closest setting. They just stop moving at a certain point because the outer tube is too narrow to allow the inner tube to be adjusted to its lowest setting. It works. It's just very very high off the mattress and requires a separate blanket to keep my wife's toes warm.

I wish I had it years ago
I had no idea that the weight of the covers hanging off the end of my toes was hurting; it was just the way covers felt. I am delighted with my purchase. I wish I had bought it 10 years ago. Unless you already sleep with your feet uncovered or are very short sleeping in a large bed you will be more comfortable with a device like this. The big negative is that if you want to bed(room) to look pretty you will have to remove and store this device or any similar device during the day as part of making the bed. You will need a device to push in the buttons that adjust the height; pick taller rather than shorter as your first setting, so you won't kick the top portion of the device if you are a kicker. I cannot get the bolts to snug up againt the metal poles, so the device is wobbly, and I cannot figure out how to correct this, but once the covers are laid over, it stabilizes so that there is no movement or noise so I don't care. This is the reason for the 4-star rating. The metal poles that the device is made of are very thick; this is good, because yes, the cat likes to lay on the "hammock" created by the top and draped sides. If you have large feet the device will need to be raised quite high, which will lift the covers high enough to make an opening at the end of the bed. I draped a similarly colored cover over the end to make a snug house for my feet. (On the other hand, if your feet are always hot you will be relieved at the aeration.)
