Featuring spreads each with raised shaped objects that fit into scooped cutouts on their opposite page, these two new TouchThinkLearn books offer the youngest learners an irresistible opportunity to explore their universe in a hands-on multisensory way. Seeing the image, tracing its shape, saying its name: these modes of perception combine in a dynamic way to stimulate understanding of essential concepts. Discover―and experience―a pig by tracing its raised outline on one side and the concave form of the mud puddle it wallows in on the other. Clusters of related words on each spread offer parents and children a springboard for further conversations to encourage the language skills so crucial to later successful learning. In a format unlike any other, these groundbreaking books translate abstract thought into tangible knowledge.

My favourite touch is that the verbs are in italics to ...
This was bought for my 16 month old by a very dear friend who is clearly marvellous at choosing gifts for small people. She had already given him Opposites and Numbers from the Touch Think Learn series which he adores. This one is equally lovely but aimed at a slightly older audience as it has a lovely vocabulary section on each page with relevant nouns and verbs for each animal. My favourite touch is that the verbs are in italics to distinguish them from the nouns, helping even the youngest children to begin to group words by function. For example, the donkey page says "mane - saddle - hoof - muzzle - ear - grass - tail - carrot - grazing - swishing" (My computer won't let me italicise the verbs though!)

Doesn’t live up to the original ABC book of this series
I was hoping for something as excellent as the ABC version of this series. But this one is small. Ok, but nothing special. I’d recommend the ABC book instead of you don’t already have that one.

Unique
Very enjoyable. My nephew is still really little but he does seem to like touching the grooves and interacting with the pages

Bello e originale
Molto carino. Sia per i piccolini che per i bambini un po' più grandi. Belli i disegni per i piccoli. Stimolanti le parole inglesi per i più grandicelli.

Great for children who may not sit still during a read
these books are all fantastic. My daughter is slowly building a great collection. They are sturdy and very well made. She really enjoys labeling them, reading them, and tracing/touching the different textures and depths.
