Follow Abby and Jonah as they embark on a thrilling journey through Neverland ― meeting pirates, mermaids, the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, and Peter Pan himself ― in this third Special Edition of the dazzling New York Times best-selling Whatever After series. Abby and Jonah are at home with Jonah's friends and their fairy friend, Maryrose, when they receive a visit from another fairy ― a famous one. It's Tinkerbell! She's come to their window with none other than Peter Pan. It's exciting at first ― but when Peter Pan announces that he needs new Lost Boys, he whisks away Jonah and Jonah's friends. It's up to Abby (and Maryrose) to follow them all into Neverland! She soon finds herself inside the beloved book Peter Pan. Even if Abby can convince Peter Pan to give her back Jonah and his friends, there's still the evil Captain Hook and his band of pirates to contend with. And can Abby trust anyone . . . even Tinkerbell? She'll have to rely on her courage ― and a little bit of magic fairy dust ― to make it back home from Neverland before all is lost! Full of fun extras like full-page this Special Edition is a whirlwind adventure like no other! Review: recommend - Story / Engagement: A fun, fast-paced fantasy adventure that blends the classic Peter Pan world with the familiar Whatever After twist. Abby and her brother get pulled into Neverland, where the story takes unexpected turns. It keeps a light, humorous tone while still adding some tension and problem-solving moments, making it very engaging for middle-grade readers. Writing Style: Easy to read with short chapters and simple language. The narration is conversational and sprinkled with humor, which makes it especially appealing for younger readers who enjoy fairy-tale retellings with a modern voice. Characters: Abby is likable and relatable, often reacting like a typical kid would in a chaotic fairy-tale situation. Supporting characters from the Neverland world are familiar but slightly reimagined, which keeps things interesting without straying too far from the original story. Creativity / Plot: The twist on Neverland is playful rather than dark or complex. It focuses more on fun “what if” changes to the original story than deep reinterpretation. The plot moves quickly, with clear goals and obstacles that are easy to follow. Overall: A light, entertaining read best suited for kids who enjoy fairy-tale mashups and adventure stories. It’s not heavy or complex, but it’s consistently fun and easy to get through. Review: What a treat to the main series - Best elementary school book series, hands-down this was a special edition book which was a great treat in addition to the main series written by Sarah

Great series for 10 year old girls! My daughter loved this book!
My 10 year old daughter is a huge fan of this series and loved this book! She flew through this book and declared it one of her top favorites. I loved the quality of the hardback and the colors on the dust jacket-- made for a happy girl when she unboxed it! Will be keeping this one for her personal bookshelf.

IN LOVE!
I've been reading this series since I was in 3rd grade. I am way past the age limit, but I still get SO excited when Sarah publishes a new book. I read this in one sitting and I loved how action-packed and thrilling it was! It lets kids use their imagination, (as it is Neverland,) and it's just generally a great book. If you've been reading the series like me, you'll have to agree. I'm not going to spoil anything else, other than you're up for a great adventure! (P.S., I was very sad when it ended, too bad I have to wait for the next book to be published!)

It sadly finally happened...
If your daughter had been enjoying this series and you've thought "yay! A wholesome series with fun rewrites of classic stories and no politics!" Well, this may be the last book in the series for you. The author decided to go ahead and bring unnecessarily adult issues into an elementary grade book series. And, I'll just say, it feels really forced and out of place. It seems as if the author really went out of her way to fit her world view into these kids story and it just doesn't make any sense. The wording is clunky and awkward and not things you'd here kids their age (Abby is 10) talk about.... it's especially not the way these kids talk. Like, can you picture Jonah giving Peter Pan a lecture? And it is a lecture. We are half way through the book... I'm going this is a 1 off or we are done. Just leave kids alone and let them play and have fun.
