Ember Sliding Lid, Splash-Proof Mug Lid Compatible with First and Second Generation Ember Mugs, 14 oz

I bought this lid to use with my 14 oz metallic Ember Mug2. The quality of the lid is good. It fits my mug really well. The silicon o-ring makes the fit nice and snug. And it’s easy to clean. I find it keeps my coffee hotter throughout the mug, instead of the coffee just being hotter at the bottom of the cup more than the top. And it also preserves a little battery life. All that being said, I would call the lid more splash-proof than spill-proof. When my mug tips over, liquid leaks from the closed sippy slider on top of the lid. It leaks out slowly, but when it’s coffee spilling into and the cup holders in the center console of your car, any amount is problematic. Also, if my mug dropped onto a hard surface, I’m pretty sure the lid would pop off. So yeah, not spill-proof, but definitely splash-proof because the lid fits nice and snug. Overall, though, this is a very useful accessory for an Ember mug, and I’m glad I decided to buy it.

Why didn't I get this sooner? Perfect fit and seal. On my 14oz Ember, which used to keep coffee warm for about 60-70 min, it now keeps it warm for 2+ hours! As long as the sliding piece is in the closed position, keeps all liquids in even in a bumpy truck cup holder. Yes, it still gets a little outside, but thanks to the lids design, what little that does escape stays inside the lid. Great deal and the perfect add on one to a great coffee mug!

Have you ever had a product experience so good that it stopped you in your tracks and made you go, "Oh! Wow, that's really nice!" That's this. I'm surprised to be writing a five-star review for this, because when I placed my order, I was bitter about the cost. It is, after all, a LID. Heck, why didn't the mug come with a lid in the first place? Then I got it and used it. I really appreciate the design of the Ember mug's lid, and now I want one for my 10oz mug, too. Specifically, the way the edge or lip of the lid is contoured makes for a really comfortable drinking experience. You don't really tend to think about what would be ergonomic for your lips - I sure didn't - until I used this. I also really love that the sip-hole slide cover pops off completely, super easily, for cleaning. We've all used sip-thru lids that get uncomfortably gunky. This makes it incredibly easy to avoid that entirely, and I love the ease of cleaning and use. It forms a good, strong seal with my mug, so now I don't have to worry about curious kitten paws making their way into my coffee. I bought the model for my 14oz Ember Mug 2 and it fits flawlessly.

If you drink your coffee black, you probably don't need this. I can't tolerate black coffee. I always have a lot of milk to counteract the acidity and bitterness of coffee. I'm also a slow coffee drinker, which is why I purchased an Ember 2 mug. The problem is that the Ember 2's heating, if you don't have this lid, inevitably creates an unpleasant skin on top of the coffee. It's just an unavoidable consequence of milk's properties and the heat. This lid completely prevents that. Even when I've got a tiny puddle of coffee left in the mug, it's still the perfect temperature and there's no skin. It's not the insulation, though I'm sure it helps, it's got to be that it's preventing moisture loss. It also makes cleaning the mug easier, because there's no baked-on coffee residue on the sides of the mug. The main drawbacks are that it's difficult to clean, and it's pricey for a bit of plastic with a rubber gasket. There's a tab that you can slide shut, and there are crevices in the indent for that tab that retain a little bit of coffee that are too tiny to clean easily. I've been soaking the lid after use, and that seems to work. If I could afford a ton of these I'd just stick them in the dishwasher, but since I have just one lid I need to clean it every day.

I’ve been using the Ember Sliding Lid for almost a year now, and it’s a total game-changer for the Ember mug. The lid creates a fantastic seal, and it noticeably helps prolong the mug’s battery life and keeps my coffee hotter for much longer. The slider design is smooth and easy to use, and I like that it comes in multiple colors for a bit of fun variety. Cleaning is simple, too; the slider pops off easily for a quick rinse or deep clean. If you already have an Ember mug, this lid is a worthwhile add-on, for a reasonable price, that makes the whole experience even better.

Really helped to keep my coffee extra warm, however, after only a couple of uses it all of a sudden no longer fits and pops right off the coffee mug. I only rinse it after using it. Wondering if it’s just a defect in the lid that I ordered? Because like I said, in the beginning, it was great.!

Ember Sliding Lid - fits nicely on my ember mug and helps to keep my drink warm. It also prevents a skin from forming on my drink. It does add height to the rim of the mug so takes a bit of getting used too but I now use it all the time.

I’m so happy with this product! Fits my 14 oz Ember mug perfectly! I like to sip my coffee slowly and the lid has extended the battery time when off the charging coaster! Comes with 3 different colored sliders. (Red,black,white) Very good quality product.

This lid doesn’t fit the Ember Mug, and just try returning it 😳🙄 Amazon famously difficult for item returns 🙄 VERY FRUSTRATING AND DISSATISFIED
