Works well good.I thought it was rubbish until I paired it with a 10gbps usbc to usbc cable and ....whooomph.....600mbps.II have a cheapo P3 nvme ssd housed within it and couldn't be more impressed.I'll probs buy another considering how cheap nvme drives are atm. way faster than flash drive equivalents.

Couldn't get this to work at all with my Samsung 980 Pro drive, until I dumped the supplied USB cable for a better quality one - problem solved! Still early days, but simple to install the drive and should be OK as long as the unit doesn't get thrown about - cover is not difficult to remove accidentally......

After have a few caddies in the past which although worked well as external drives for data transfer most failed when cloning, especially 1-2tb drives. Caddies got very hot and many failed to clone due to crashing through heat. I sort od overcame this by using heatsinks of sorts. I'm happy to say the first 2 clones (1tb to 2tb) went vwery well and truly quickly. Heat was acceptable. Transfers od data (around 350-400gb music and images very fast. So all said and doen, nice.The USB 3 C to C is the way to go.

Purchased this to house a nvme for backups, works well but for the money I would of expected a metal case, not cheap plastic case and connector.

Yep it works as you expect it too. put in the M2 hard drive and plug in with USB. Helped transfer data from an old hard drive to a new one.

This was cheap but doesn't work properly for my use case. It might be okay for reading and writing the odd file but I wanted to copy a lots of files.I am using a SATA M.2 disk and the device is plugged directly into a Thunderbolt 3 port in a laptop running Linux. The disk mounts okay and initially works when transferring files. After about a minute, it hangs and I need to reboot the laptop. The SSD doesn't even get hot. This happens every time I try it.Googling online indicates that this is a common problem and that most brands have the same fault. This device internally uses the RealTek RTL9210B chip which is considered more reliable than the JMicron or ASMedia alternatives.

Upgrading from an Intel Octane ssd-based primary storage solution to straight NVME ssd solution works for my laptop. It was pretty straightforward: follow the instructions in the Acronis tool. It’s a very nice and capable portable system.i don’t recall seeing this in other reviews, so I’ll share my findings. I was unable to read from the Octane ssd using this kit. After a lot of digging, I understand that I cannot see the contents of an Octane ssd until you reinitialize and reformat it to remove the RAID functionality. This means the Octane ssd won’t have the original data (make a good backup first) and probably won’t perform to its potential.

Work good and easy to work with

Great speed! my only negative is instead of a screw has a rubber plug to keep memory card in place. Don't know overtime if it is going to pop out. So far so good!

Good value for money. even though heats upon usage as any similar casing, performance is as expected. upto 800MB/s read & write on my iMac's TB 3 port.
