Exellent lens cleaner for certain multi-coated Nikkor lenses and filters.
I started using Reagent grade Methanol long ago as a lens cleaner for legacy single and multi-coated Nikkor lenses as recommended by Nikon for their large format lenses.Not for older Schneider lenses. I'm not sure of modern Nikkor Z series lenses or other brands.

Cleans laser engraved surfaces so well!
Methanol was recommended to me to remove char (sooty residue left by laser engraving) on steel tumblers. The problem was its kind of difficult to find. Found it on Amazon for a good price and had it 2 days later. It works fast and reliably. Be careful and read product warnings regarding storage and usage. Storage safety is tantamount.

Exactly as advertised, but arrived damaged
Overall I got exactly what was advertised however in shipping the seal seems to have broke and the lid was not fully on the bottle.I got maybe 75% of the total volume I expected to get and between that and the fact that the lid wasn’t fully on(which would’ve likely protected against the seal puncture and prevented leaking) I have to take a star off.It’s not necessarily the sellers fault since this could’ve happened in shipping, but it also could’ve been checked before packaging to ensure the cap was fully on so that if something happened in shipping it would’ve have resulted in lost volume

Works like methanol should. I'm assuming those who are purchasing it know about the hazards of Methanol. Keep it off of your skin (i.e., use gloves) and its fumes out of your lungs (i.e., use it in a well-ventilated area) and you should be fine. I worked in the optics industry for years and methanol was the solvent of choice for cleaning glass. It works great and doesn't leave streaks.
