Life Extension Melatonin IR/XR 120 Capsules - Immediate & 7 Hour Extended-Release - Night Time Supplement - Supports Staying Asleep - Non-GMO, Gluten-Free

Trying the Bredesen protocol for my dad with dementia. Dr told me to use an extended release Melatonin to help him stay asleep. We were using regular melatonin before which would get him to bed but then he would wake up. This has helped let him sleep through the night. Love the dose as well. Been very hard to find lower doses of melatonin. Your body naturally only makes about ~0.3mg of melatonin. Happy with this product so far.

I’ve used a lot of different brands of melatonin. For many years, I used Remfresh because it was the longest lasting melatonin I’d found. But Nestlé bought Remfresh and stopped making it. After about a year of searching for a replacement I finally found this. I think it is better than Remfresh actually. The combination of fast acting and time release is nice. But the best part is it works a full 7 hrs or even a little more. It works so well that I’ll use regular time release melatonin instead if I can only get 6 or less hrs of sleep. I highly recommend this melatonin if you have trouble going back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night.

It works as advertised. The dose of 1.5 mg perfectly fine. There is no reason for the melatonin in the 10mg doses. There is data that shows that the small doses are just as effective as the larger ones.

I like the combination of the extended and quick release, and it does help me sleep, but not as well as I'd like. I have intermittent insomnia and this has not eliminated it. To be fair, I take two other prescription meds and magnesium. So, I can't blame it all on the Melatonin.

The extended release helps me get 5-6 hours of lights-out sleep. I was only getting 4-5 hours before when I took Ashwandagha and B6.

It really works!

This is hands down the best melatonin product I have tried and trust me when I say I have tried many different versions from different manufacturers and a wide gamut of dosages and delivery methods. Despite it’s modest dosage compared to many other products, this melatonin is so much more stable throughout the night compared to other extended release products and causes no hangover effect as many high dosage melatonin capsules often cause. It’s more expensive per milligram than many other products, but it just works the best.

Very disappointed in Melatonin IR/XR. I've taken regular melatonin, on and off again, thru the years. As a VN vet, I've had trouble sleeping longer than 2 to 3 hours at a time. The regular melatonin, lasts about 2.5 hours and then I'm awake. Our doctor recommended this product! It did nothing for me. Taking it by itself was like taking nothing. Fortunately, I now fall asleep relatively quick, hopeing this would keep me asleep for maybe 4 or 5 hours, but no, it didn't. I would have been thrilled if it worked and surprised, only 1.5 melatonin.
