We stayed in a holiday home that had these and decided we need some at home - they act as nightlights, turn on full during a power cut (which happened to us last month!), and are simply a useful torch to have at hand. They probably won’t run as long as a typical disposable-battery torch, but with these (which are very light) you never have to think about how much battery life is left … just grab it and shine it into the corner of that dark cupboard, take it down the garden at night, etc.

We bought these for an elderly family member who lives on her own. We wanted an LED torch that was always available if required and these fitted the bill as they sit in their cradle which you leave plugged into a power socket - so always ready to go when needed. There is also a useful nightlight built into the end of the handle so they provide a bit of light when it's dark and makes them easier to locate. If there's a power cut, the torch illuminates straight away, so providing some immediate emergency lighting and torch is ready to go. Really handy to have setup near a consumer unit. We bought the 'twin' pack - one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Quick pricey but still highly recommended.

Bought 2 of these after seeing them in a house while on holiday. We have grandkids who stay over so we have one plugged in at the top and bottom of the stairs. In the photograph the torch sits in a holder which plugs into the electricity, the top is just a Normal torch light but the red/orange at the bottom is actually a night light. I would recommend this for the elderly and children who might need to use the toilet or maybe just go walkabout during the night. Priced at £20 each they were well worth it as you can’t put a price on keeping loved one’s safe.

Exactly as described. I bought 2, for our first and second floor hallways, and they start to light the emergency glow light at dusk. The torch is bright and always ready to go. Very good and 5/5 stars.

Useful nightlight and torch.

These work very effectively and a god send in our little B&B, such a great idea, cost effective, good enough quality (so far). The torch may not be super powerful but its enough to light your way out in an emergency, job done. UPDATE still love them but of the four I have, one of them has now failed, suspect the induction charging bit on the plug side has failed as the torch seems fine. Could be lack of QC where they are manufactured, or extreme cost cutting.

Brilliant idea. Going to get another two. They passively light the floor below where you plug them in so you can always find them in a power cut. When you pull the torch out of the holder it lights up fully and you can turn it on and off as a normal torch. Then when finished with it you just put it back in the holder and it passively charges it to full again. I have a pair at the bottom of the stairs and one in the top floor corridor., one in the kitchen by the electrical cupboard and will get another for the front porch so when you come home to a power cut you have immediate access to a fully charged torch you can find in the dark.. Again great idea this.
