I have been so miserable. Every fall and spring I get severe seasonal allergies and with them the usual symptoms. I can’t stop there. My sinuses get so stopped up they in turn plug up my eustachian tubes and I have terrible vertigo. Because I am 83, I can’t take the usual meds to stop the dizziness. I received the Xlear nasal spray a little while ago. I used 2 metered sprays in each nostril. It was not terribly pleasant like plain saline spray. There was a bit of discomfort in my nose, sinus cavities, and throat, which lasted 2 or 3 minutes. Suddenly my ears popped open, and mucus poured from my nose. The pressure behind my eyes eased up and my dizziness seems to have lessened quite a bit. I can again turn my head without the room spinning. What a relief! It is worth the fleeting discomfort to be able to walk without the fear a dizzy spell will knock me off-balance. Where has this product been all my life? And no drugs so no drug interactions. YAY!

How does this compare to Flonase?

What's the difference between the spray and the wash? I'm interested in a spray for allergies and for fighting bacteria when I fly.

I heard a guy say that the mucus helps to protect the tissue under the mucus. The washing dries and exposes the tissue, while the xylitol spray humidifies while killing the bacteria.
