The main question should be have you removed the carb? As once this is off the diaphragm is easy to fit although very flimsy so great care has to be taken not to tear it, I think that on You tube there may be some hints.It is also important that once the carb. has been removed you clean every component thoroughly with petrol and let them dry. dont forget to clean the fuel tank filters

does this fit the mountfield sp470 lawnmower? and my problem is the engine starts fine but after a few miutes it starts revving /pulsing

You need to check to see if the carburetor is similar to the briggs an stratton one you have. Check YouTube they have loads of vids on the subject. Mine was running erratic so I stripped and cleaned the carb and replaced the gasket and it now runs steady. I got all my info on the repair from YouTube just make sure you put the gasket on the right way and it's simple.
