Not worth it
After extensive research to replace my existing broken turntable, I was excited to find this unit compatible with Sonos. I was willing to pay the steep price to avoid more speakers etc. I couldn’t wait to play my favorite records for my kids who were so curious how a turntable worked. Who knew!? The set up was easy. The unit is quite beautiful and sleek and did look great in my music room. Those are the only pros. The connection was very unstable and glitchy and slightly improved with the recommended adjustments. I couldn’t get an entire side of a record to play without interruption. When it did connect, the sound was decent. The app crashed more often after the recommended update. Unfortunately this is just not a good unit. The concept is amazing but not quite there and certainly not worth the very steep price tag. Plus … if the internet goes out, this unit is useless. It could also use a protective cover for use while playing. I’m a big audiophile and spent the better part of my day trying to make this work, hoping it would improve but it just didn’t. It made more work than enjoyment.

Best Sonos turntable on the market!
Love this turntable. Here is why: Easy directions to get set up. I was worried about having install a cartridge, balance the tone arm and getting everything set up correctly. Victrola has thought this through and makes it very easy to set up thanks to a QR code that takes you to an app you download to your smart phone. The app is great and delivers step by step instructions. Then once you get set up, it's pretty easy to get integrated into your Sonos system. My Sonos system is placed throughout the home and it was fun to hear some of my old vinyl that isn't avail on Spotify or iTunes. This is why I purchased the turntable. While the turntable delivers great sound with my new records, I was super impressed how it handled my older vinyl that has some scratches, warps and pops. Those records played just fine and sounded great despite their age and wear. To me, that is a sign of a good turntable. If you have a record collection that includes several releases that aren't avail on any of the streaming services, then this is a must have. Thank you Victrola!

Play Vinyl Records on a Sonos System
Great solution for playing my vinyl records on my whole house Sonos system. Had a little trouble setting it up at first. Had to first set it up on my stand-alone Sonos 5 wireless speaker. Once done, all my in-room, built in speakers showed up by room on the Victrola App. Can only play in one room at a time though. Really enjoying playing my old vinyl records. They still sound great, better than digital. I only wish Victrola provided a decent dust cover that could be used while a record is playing. I would recommend this product.

Review of the Victrola stream Onyx
I have had turntables and sound systems with turntables built in and are Direct drive or belt-driven from the 70’s onward. There was a time I went CD only and got rid of the tables (not the vinyl). Around 2019 give or take, I wanted to hear the actual vinyl and digitize the records I did not have CDs for. A Victrola Navigator then a Direct drive from another brand with USB and a moving magnet cartridge for a step up in 2020. A downsizing move made me keep the Victrola and sell my component theater system with the direct drive table. I got a Sonos Beam Gen 2 as my TV soundbar and the larger matching sub. They sound excellent no matter what is playing on them. So, I went looking for a less expensive way to add a table to my Sonos S2-based system then a Sonos port or amp or a Sonos speaker with audio input. That adds to the cost of a table. With the Stream Onyx works with Sonos, I can play right to my Sonos system and use the RCA line level outputs to feed my computer with an external audio interface/sound card to continue digitizing vinyl. The setup was easy; follow the instructions in the app or on the videos and in 30 minutes or less, you listen to your records! Without that bridge to the Sonos environment. The hardest part is tweaking the tracking and anti-skating so that loud sections of your records are without skipping; yes, there is help on the website for this. I love this table and recommend it.

Don't buy this, better options available for half the price.
Not worth the money. When it works, it’s great, and the Sonos connectivity is an appealing concept. Unfortunately, the overall sound quality is poor, which makes it hard to truly appreciate vinyl. There is noticeable distortion and frequent connectivity interruptions that undermine the experience. After about eight months, my record player began having hardware issues. I’ve been working with support for the past three months with no resolution—46 emails and 28 photos and videos later, the problem remains unresolved. For a product at this price point, that level of reliability and support is unacceptable. It’s a great idea with a strong marketing pitch, but the execution falls short. The inconsistent performance and extremely poor customer support only add to the disappointment. I genuinely wish I had chosen a different option before spending this much money.

Pitch/speed of music varies, sounds terrible! PIECE OF JUNK - DO NOT BUY!
Connects to SONOS fine, but during the playing of the first record, I noticed that the pitch/speed of the music intermittently started to drop/slow momentarily, then resume normal pitch/speed, sounding terrible! I tried another trusted record, and the same problem was there, but seemed to improve. However I then used the turntable a few days later, and the same intermittent problem was again evident, but worse than before. A third record was tested – same dreadfully poor intermittent pitch variation, sounding totally out of tune...listen to the video attached. I sent an email to Victrola.com.au (Australia) and Victrola.com (USA) but I have had no response from either of them, and there's no phone number, so I can't see how they can warrant the product. PATHETIC VICTROLA PRODUCT AND SERVICE! I am extremely disappointed with the Victrola Stream Onyx Turntable operation, particularly given that it’s a relatively expensive unit. I note that although the unit is new in the box, it has build date of Sep 2022, some 18 months ago. I like the design and concept of the unit, however its performance is totally unacceptable for what is touted to be a premium Victrola unit. PIECE OF JUNK - DO NOT BUY IT! Sent it back to Amazon, cost $180.00 in shipping! Just hope I get the refund promised.

Great for my needs
Great to play some of my old albums on without breaking the bank. Got on sale for $399. Connected to Sonos no problem at highest quality and lowest delay using stock Xfinity Gateway. Don't know where others are seeing connection problems, but I'm not seeing any. Looks good, sounds good, and does the job.

Decepcionante por el costo de 10,000 pesos mexicanos
Decepcionado.

Shameful
I was sold on the concept of adding a turntable to my existing Sonos ecosystem, so the Victrola Stream Onyx with its ability to pair wirelessly with the system seemed like a no brainer. While it is expensive, there’s really nothing else on the market offering a similar feature set. Unfortunately this one is going back. This turntable doesn’t hold pitch. There are frequent small variances in speed during playback leaving everything sounding warped. I’ve since noticed other users reporting similar experiences. While it’s likely I got a lemon, even when the turntable worked, it was just OK. The wireless stream to Sonos would often be dropped, or worse, begin to cut in and out repeatedly requiring a restart, and you need to use the dedicated Victrola app to choose which room you want music - you can’t choose using the Sonos app, other than to group a room that is already playing. Sonically there is not much heft either. Playback is at a significantly lower level than other content through the same Sonos configuration, meaning you have to turn the volume way up to listen, and if you forget to turn it back down when you’re finished, you may be in for a shock when you go back to your streaming source of choice. Even without the mechanical issues impeding playback, this unit offers very mediocre performance at a premium price. It’s a shame.
