Great machine! Very sturdy, easy to use, and makes perfect buttons!
Love this button maker! It took me awhile to figure out the alignment (and how to align) and also just figuring out the right angles to put the pieces in to line up straight but they came out perfect once I figured it out. It’s also very easy to use! It also took me a minute to realize that I had to put the washer in for the bigger metal buttons to work (oops) but again they came out perfect after I realized. The instructions could use improvement but I found videos to help. It’s also a very sturdy machine. Another reviewer brought up they put foam pads on the bottom and I tried it out and it worked great since the bottom does slip around on slick surfaces. I ordered more buttons and have made over 1000 with no issue! Highly recommend!

Perfection
Very sturdy and heavy duty button at a price point that should suit most casual users, but highly recommend enough quality for a serious button maker. Great value and comes with everything you need to make lots of buttons right out of the box. The set up instructions might be a little hard for some to follow, but they do offer links to videos and those were very succinct and helpful. Easier to understand when you watch it. I’m pretty serious about button making and use them as merch for my business. However, I would also recommend this as a craft set up for kids. It’s not much more money than a plastic button maker that will break and frustrate kids with poor results. Smaller buttons are easy to press. Larger buttons might require adult assistance. If your kids become disinterested and it’s collecting dust, you could resell it for a solid price to fund the next hobby. Those cheap plastic presses are all going to landfills. They break. They have no resale value. I have had a very small amount of failed buttons with the press, and all of the failures were my fault. A very reliable machine as long as you set up all the button components properly. Take a second to inspect each button after pressing. If something is wrong, you can figure out what you are doing wrong because it’s not the press. Great press!

Fantastic quality and easy to use
Once setup, which only took a few minutes, I was making my first buttons. I made sure to try things out and make my mistakes on the first few and now it's second nature. Line up the top marks correctly and keep the paper thin and all is well. Foam stickers don't do well, but can be buttonized. I did end up buying a good quality cutter to make life easier though.

Please do not buy, it works or it doesnt. Do you want to take the risk?
I purchased this for my class to use. It immediately didnt work (as with other reviews), even using the materials they provided didnt work. The machine has a failure rate of 80% and the buttons it does make have bubbling around the edges, please see photos attached. It says in the manual and on their website that paper between a range of 127g -159g works, FALSE. When I contacted the company over 7 emails back and forth over 2 weeks (they said the issue would be resolved in 1 to 3 days) that only the materials they offer will work and sent me 2 links for their materials on Amazon, one of the links went to a page that no longer had the materials. They also said 159g paper works, FALSE. I ordered 4 different reams of paper at a cost of app. $70.00 all within the limit, including 159g paper none worked. I also ordered buttons from 3 different companies, at a cost of almost $80.00 none worked. They refuse to return the maker and so does Amazon. I have spent almost $300.00 of my very limited classroom budget for this and they have said too bad I am out of luck. I see that several people have had similar issues. I have spent hours trying to get it to work, watched videos did all the trouble shooting. It does not work, it is NOT user error. In my experience some tools like this have such a finite work or not that thats what you get . A tool that works or doesnt. I wouldnt recommend taking the risk. Dealing with the company has been a bit of a nightmare as well. Please consider your purchase wisely, maybe it works, maybe it doesnt. If it doesnt your are out of luck. UPDATE: After weeks of back and forth the company did send me a new button maker. This one works perfectly. The whole paper weight range and all worked. I use this maker exactly like the last one. This confirms my original hypothesis that the variables on this machine are so precise that if they are off at all it does not work. So people are either getting one that works or not. I would not recommend you taking the chance. I will also say that using a heat gun on the original machine buttons smoothed out the bubbles you see in my images making them usable, a heat gun, not a hair dryer.

3" is a SOLID machine
I purchased the 3" machine after purchasing another in 2.25" machine from another well-reputed company that was way more expensive than this machine. That machine is on a 6 week backorder and while I am waiting I thought I would give this a go. I ordered that because of the reputation and community pressure of feeling like purchasing any other brand would be a very bad idea. Now, I think many brands on Amazon ARE cheap junk and I can't speak for the smaller size machines Vevor (they look to be made of different material) but this 3" machine is phenomenal. Very well constructed, heavy metal. There are a couple of plastic pieces...we will see how they hold up. Their instruction book did seem to be backwards from what you are actually supposed to do as far as labeled parts, so I did mess up several buttons at the get go, but I figured it out. Seems very solid and I am very happy with the money spent. I also decided to upgrade my paper punch after doing a few with the provided cutter. It is fine for a few but if you are doing many buttons, it will be frustrating.

FINE FOR PERSONAL USE, BUT HAS SOME ISSUES..
Before starting, this is gonna be a long, more indept review, as im sharing my personal experience with this machine after making a decent amount of buttons of both sizes. First off, what to expect when ordering. When your package arrives, you get all machine parts, tools for assembly ((namely two L-wrenches)), and any items needed to assemble pins, for both sizes, such as... - the clear film linings - the tin covers - metal pin backings - plastic pin backins - round paper cutters - a few black plastic gaskets Some misc. items are a booklet with images of the brands mascot, presumably for buttons, and the instruction booklet. THE MACHINE itself, and all its components are mostly metal. The base is a harder PVC, and it has a rubber handle. So, much more durable than the other fully plastic machines on here and other sites. - MACHINE DURABILITY is a 4.5/5 Its mostly stable, but can be a bit finnicky in changing out parts. - MACHINE ASSEMBLY is a 3.5/5 It's fairly simple, following the instruction manual, however the L-Wrenches aren't too useful for all steps. Theres two screws that can't be removed, as the instructions say to, when changing the upper parts out, using these wrenches. However, i could easily just use my hand to untwist them. Not an issue for me, but brought on some confusion. - BUTTON MAKING EXPERIENCE is a 4/5 Again, its a bit finnicky, and the process is trial and error. Using too thick paper ruins the image and button by crinkling it and pressing together. Using a 2nd clear coating, mistakenly, can ruin it as well. ((However, ive been able to reuse the crinkled image to make a new button.. though the damage was visible to varying degrees.)) Additionally, to make the larger buttons with a METAL pin backing, you need to add a black plastic gasket on part B of the machine. This is laid out in the instructions, but given the gasket is plastic and only has a few included in the order, that raises some concerns for me. If i somehow break or lose the gasket, then i can no longer make larger pins with the metal backings. Im sure i could buy another, but i dont feel as thats fair if ive already bought the machine. However, thats my opinion. Besides that, the instructions themselves are easy to follow. I saw several reviews saying they had to watch videos or look into other outside sources to use this machine. I just used the booklet it had. **Im unaware if this booklet was initially included with the machine, but for me, it was.** - BUTTON DURABILITY is a 4/5 The larger size has a more stable durability in my experience. I found when making buttons of the smaller size, i could pull the metal backing off the button. Though, i was pulling it intentionally to test its durability, so take that as you will. A simple fix i did was just hot glueing the pieces back together. Again, an easy fix for me, if you think you shouldnt have to do so, that maybe of issue. The finished buttons seem like your standard button/pin, i dont have any real issues with them. If i force them to bend/break, well, they do. But that doesnt happen with regular use. - MACHINE ACCESSORIES are 3/5 Let me explain.. For assembling the machine, all parts are included, with some L wrenches. The wrenches cant be used for all the steps in assembly/changing out parts. As i stated earlier, i could easily use my hand to untwist the screws for those certain steps. However, this is still a notable issue with the machine/assembly. Continueing... The machine comes with the tools needed to make buttons... the plastic and metal packings, the clear film, black plastic gaskets, and metal tins... all that do work in creating buttons when used correctly. However, I would prefer if the gaskets were metal and came with more than just 2 in the package. As theyre very needed to make 1/4th of all possible buttons with the machine ((the larger buttons with a metal backing)). Without it, the metal backings for the larger buttons become unusable and ruin those button attempts. And finally, as others have commented on, the circular paper cutters... Now mine itselfs, were packaged just fine. I saw some reviews say they came broken, or that the razors were exposed. That was not the case for me. Others have said theirs came broken.. again, not the case for me. When using both tools, i found their durability is decent. Its a plastic tool. It'll break with enough force if applied. Now the usuage of these tools is a bit finnicky for me. The razor blade is cut/slanted at an angle. Meaning you have to pull the tool/razor in the direction of the slant to properly cut the paper. So, if pulled in the opposite direction, the paper tears or bunches up, until pulled correctly. Maybe its user error, but i still see that as an issue worth mentioning. A work around would be just using these to trace the circular size for the buttons and simply cutting it out with scissors. TO CONCLUDE... I find this a servicable button maker for personal use. (( Im not using this machine for professional nor commercial use, so i cant attest to how it holds up with that)). Its a bit of a learning curve, with trail and error, but genuinely not anything too confusing.

I'm happy with my purchase
I've wanted a button maker for years, but never had a valid reason to purchase one. Had a few extra bucks this month and bought this one. Picked this particular model because 1) it's all metal construction, and 2) it does two different sizes of buttons. Plus, I've bought a number of other VEVOR products in the past and have been satisfied with their quality. Being all metal this button machine is heavy - heavier than I was expecting. Which I like. There is some assembly required, but not much and nothing complicated. However, the instructions you get are very confusing. It appears they were badly translated from some other language into English. There are photos along with the written text, so it isn't that hard to figure out what needs to be done to put this together. Just four parts to assemble. You get a lot of supplies with this, and a couple of tools for cutting circles out of paper to use as artwork for your buttons. The circle cutters look clumsy to use, so I will be buying some hole punches later. You get both plastic and metal backs for the two different sizes of buttons. You also get a paperback book with some graphics to use for buttons to practice on. I made several test buttons as soon as I got the button maker put together. I was surprised at how little pressure was needed - I was sort of expecting some large amount of force was needed. But no, it's actually very little. All the buttons came out prefect. Both the plastic back ones as well as the metal ones. I also bought a batch of the third-part button supplies to use, but have yet to try to use that with this machine, I'll come back and update my review if I have a problem using those materials. All-inall I happy with my purchase and would readily recommend this model.

Best mid tier button maker
Great — easy to use and best ratio of good vs messed up buttons! Tried multiple button makers before this one & it is the simplest to use and best of all! Recommend.

I don't know about other machines but very happy with mine.
Many of the reviews suggested these button makers don't work properly for one reason or another but I decided to take a chance. It is a present for my daughter to make buttons for the netball team she coaches so I thought I should test it before I pass it on. I had a quick read of the instructions. Reading instructions first is new to me! It looked solid and well made but when I came to assemble it, the machine didn't sit flat on the base. I placed it on some course sandpaper and it didn't take long to overcome that. The holes in the base of the unit didn't quite line up with those in the plate but a slight adjustment fixed that too. I could have succeeded without the adjustments but was happier knowing it was a solid mounting. From what I had read about others, I was expecting to have to make several to get one good one so I just put the parts in the machine, pulled down the handle for the first step, then the second and I had a completed badge that looked quite professional. Maybe that is the only one that will work but I assume that success will continue. I'm very happy with the purchase.

SO MUCH FUN!!!
I love this product! How did I not buy this sooner. It is so easy to make a button. I am not sure if it can make 1000 buttons, as it says it comes with 1000 pieces. So just guessing here at least 300 buttons bc it takes 3 pieces to make a button. But anyway I am just having so much fun right now. Buttons for everyone!!!!
