La Rochere Bee 1L Water Carafe

Nothing like the previous two La Rochere carafes I owned and loved. Quality has dropped significantly. Thus one was very thin and made in two halves. The vertical join was raised and highly visible. Returned for a refund.

This carafe is a very pretty object & looks like an artisan product, although it is machine made. It arrived carefully wrapped. It's quite weighty and is "bottom-heavy" in use. Mine is in daily use & treated with lots of care but in 3 months it has already chipped 3 or 4 times on the rim. We're not a clumsy lot, either-I have a half litre carafe that's been in regular use for 40 years without any damage & our delicate glassware usually lasts for years. I think it is to do with the quality of the glass and the way it's manufactured-it seems that a tiny knock can expose a fault line in the crystal structure & a biggish shard chips off. So I am rather disappointed, especially since it was quite expensive.

We bought both this and the wine carafe for my daughter in law for her birthday, she already had the water glasses, and was delighted.. There is a snobbery about glassware that these bees challenge very successfully - really lovely to have, ideal for outdoor enjoyment, and a great talking point.

Haven't actually used it yet, but nice and sturdy; not sure how easy it will be to clean or dry after use to avoid water marking, but like the product

Very good quality product, looks very elegant on the dining table filled with water. Bought for a present for my parents and they are delighted with it.
