Love it, easy kit to assemble.

Expensive but high quality product from GW. Lots of optional extras, spare parts and options. Has a hollow bottom which bothers some people. Not really issue unless you want to turn the tank over to make a ruined tank for scenery.

I've been meaning to get a Rogal Dorn for my guard army since the new model was released by Games Workshop but the local GW store never seemed to have them in stock; It seems that this has been a very popular kit and it was only recently that I managed to get my hands on one. As usual, you have the fantastic quality sculpts from GW and a variety of "loadouts" that you can build your Rogal Dorn with (twin cannons, or the anti armour opressor cannon) it also comes with side sponson options and all the little gribblies you'd come to expect. One downside... or, two downsides to the kit is that the tank comes without a bottom hull plate, so, you have a huge gap in the bottom of your tank, not so much a problem when its trundling along the battlefield and it's not visible but might be a bugbear for some of us who buy the models to paint and display and there's a huge chunk of your tank missing that you can see when it's on display in your glass cabinet. Easily fixed with some 3D printing. Secondly, the price, it's around £60 which, for what i've alluded to above, is an "incomplete" model, and this is a a trend that GW has been following for some time now; great sculpts but the prices are beginning to get a little silly. Is it value for money? If you're a big 40K gamer, then yes, the tank is something you absolutely want in your lists, if you're a casual player, then the prices that games workshop are asking for it are becoming a little absurd, but given they have a monopoly in the tabletop arena, you might not have much other choice.

Having built several leman russ tanks already, I thought this would be similar but a bit larger. I was wrong. It's better and a lot larger. There is a gap underneath which is my only problem with the model but this is easily filled with a piece of stiff card or styrene sheet if it bothers you. The way the tracks go on is a big step up from the old models, and is much clearer in the assembly manual .

A cracking tank by GW however the bottom plate is missing. After a bit more research I have discovered it was designed that way. Be warned if you buy this you aren’t getting a full kit.

So yeah it’s a great detailed kit however there is a massive floor section missing. Don’t know if it was accidentally released that way but people have complained and nothings changed. Apart from that it’s a good kit.

Der Rogal Dorn Battle Tank ist ein beeindruckendes Modell für das Astra Militarum. Der Panzer wirkt massiv und detailreich gestaltet und passt perfekt zur militärischen Ästhetik der imperialen Armee. Besonders Fans der Imperialen Armee werden an diesem schweren Kampfpanzer ihre Freude haben. Ein starkes Modell für Sammler und Spieler des Astra Militarum.
