Has anyone expierenced wooden tabletop discoloration when used for a prolonged period? Grips - non slip?

I used mine for a little over a month on a matt finish table and shiny spots developed on the plastic and wood table, which cannot be removed from either surface. Not sure if I just received one with some kind of chemical on it or not but it ruined my table.
