I needed to cut some slots in 2" thick pine for M10 coach screws so I needed some long bits. There is no doubt that the longer the bit, the more danger you are in. It is necessary to take care with bits this thin and long. Ideally, it would be best to use a 1/2" router for strength, but finding a long ~10mm router bit with a 1/2" shank is, well, I couldn’t find one. 8mm shank is the next best thing, but it is a lot weaker. Not only that, but my 8mm router has no safeties, so even more reason to take care. The bits vibrated a little so I kept the speed right down and plunged in steps of around 5mm. Strictly speaking, these aren't plunge bits, but in soft pine they worked for 5mm.The cut was guided by the larger 32mm recess I had previously cut in the wood. The bits are very sharp. They happily sailed through knots. Considering the pine was cheap and damp, the result was good. Admittedly, not a great test, but it did at least show that in soft materials they work as expected.I think the message is that these are perfectly good bits as long as you be sensible and take all the safety precautions you can.Recommended.

Terrible quality
I used once each trying to carve around 3cm from a pine kitchen worktop. The too part is bad material, it creates canals that made the bit comes out from the router by itself. The long one brokes quite easily. Not recommended at all. I'll send them back as they are, terrible!

Only suitable for MDF or Chipboard.
These break easily on timber (not even hardwood). I have a job that I need to complete so I put up with the breakages Three of the bits broke on one length of timber even when used carefully. I'm going to use an alternative router bit and see if they fare better.
