Question 1

How supported is this controller with PC (Windows 7 x64)? I am thinking of buying one of these to play Metal Gear Phantom Pain when it comes out.

Community support for it on PC is great. Ds4windows makes your PC see it as a 360 controller by default, so you can use it with tons of games. You can set multiple profiles with different button layouts and different lightbar colors. The touchpad can be used as a mouse which is great when you want to watch Netflix and aren't right next to your mouse. Its easy to setup too. You'll need a micro (or mini, bad memory) USB for wired play and a Bluetooth receiver of 2.0 or better for wireless play.

Question 2

Is this the same as the original controller except for the color? Or are the thumbsticks more durable ?

its changed on mine Its a grit like feeling.. the controller itself is almost the same besides for the grit it has been more difficult to aim in FPS but that could just be its new and moves more free where my old one I'm use to it.. probably more durable but I don't like it as much..

Will this work with Nvidia shield 8" tablet?

It will actually work to a degree. If you use a micro USB cable and a USB OTG cable together it will work perfectly for games that use the gamepad mapper and gamestreaming. For android games with built in controller support the controls are sometimes messed up though and you can't use it wirelessly as far as I know.

Does it come with a usb cord of its own, or do I need to buy one separately? And if I do what is the best usb cord to buy?
