Great product. It really workes
I just started modeling again after about 20 years. I had about 150 kits in storage. Most of the decals are bad. This makes them useable again. After coating the old decals be sure to trim them close before applying. This is just what I needed. Great product

Liquid decal film
Used it as directed on decals for several models and so far have avoided tearing and disintegrating issues. Seems to be a good product.

Great on old brittle decals
Works great to restore old brittle decals. I'm building kits from the 80s and I give all of the old decals a coat of this

Restored what I doubted could be restored
It worked restoring some decals from a kit I picked up that was originally made in 1976. Not all of them were restored, but enough for it to be worth a 5 star rating. Haven't made any custom decals yet, but I am very impressed as is with it just for being able to save my decals that I didn't think would survive.

Decal saver?
I was encouraged to buy this in an attempt so save the decals from the Revell #3 Bass Pro Shops Monte Carlo. You could clearly see that all the black parts of the decals were splintered. I bought this, applied exactly as the instructions indicated, but the decals splintered anyway. For me, the application did not work.

Decals Falling Apart?
I buy a lot of kits online and sometimes these kits have been sitting in a basement or attic for quite a while. If they come with decals it is very likely they will disintegrate when dipped in water. This decal film can save many of these damaged decals by providing a top film to hold them together. Once you get the decal on the model and allow it to dry thoroughly the decal solvents will work in settling the decal into the details and eliminating the silvering on the edges. Remember to trim the decal right up to the edge of the image as this film does not distinguish between a decal and a carrier film. If you coat the entire decal sheet with this film the entire sheet will slide from the paper backing when immersed in water.

Awesome stuff!
I've known about this stuff for years and just recently tried it on decals that were shattering. It goes on thick and dries very thin. You can do several coats to reinforce your decals. You will have to trim away excess film from the decal. Also....I used Solvaset and Mark Fit Strong over the treated decals with no problem.
