Yale Universal Replacement

Really pleased with this Yale Security Door Handle — it’s solid, well-made, and feels very secure. The quality is exactly what you’d expect from Yale, with a strong, durable build that gives real peace of mind. Installation was simple( recording to the husband) , and it fit perfectly onto my PVC door. The polished chrome finish looks smart and modern, instantly improving the appearance of the door. Overall, a great replacement handle — sturdy, stylish, and reliable. Definitely worth it if you want something that combines good looks with real security.

My old door handle and letterbox were looking a little tired so I decided to replace them both in an effort to improve on appearance. I did a fair bit of looking around before choosing this handle from Yale, partly because it had already got plenty of positive reviews from other users. I also found an excellent installation video online which does and excellent job of demonstrating how easy the handles are to install (just search for 'How to fit a Yale PVCu replacement door handle') and so I felt comfortable in my choice. Fitting the handles didn't take long and the task did prove to be straightforward, with the result being a much improved look for my front door. I replaced the letterbox at the same time and chose this product which complements it perfectly Mila 110921 40 - 80mm ProStyle Letterbox - Chrome . Together they have transformed the look of my door and I am very pleased with their appearance and quality.

Bought as a replacement for one I couldn't match the hole centres for and seems an excellent choice. The handle is all solid metal, (steel with the weight of it) not tubular alloy like my old one. The finish is first class with what looks and feels like quality thick shiny chrome which is harder wearing than electroplated brass on alloy so should look good for decades. My only slight concern was the mounting plate and screws used to adapt for different hole centres. I was wary that the plate may spread with their taper seating if over tightened, it didn't cause a problem but but I didn't go mad with it and seems fully secure. The parts that go against the door are a good 8mm thicker in total than my previous handle so the existing euro cylinder is now recessed inside the handle by a couple of mm but is still easy to get the key in and turn and I don't want to replace my nearly new matching cylinders so I can cope with it. Overall I'm very happy, good, solid well finished (really smooth with no sharp corners) handles that do the job hopefully for years to come.

Great quality, relatively easy to fit. Only solution I could find for a non standard 205mm screw hole distance French door handle. Handle can be used for right or left door. Comes with 2 length bars and 2 length screws for thinner doors The handle I replaced had the following markings AVOCET 2 (07) - might help someone if they are struggling like me to find a replacement

An adjustable handle that allows for a variety of fixing screw positions. Used this to replace old "white" handles on UPVC patio doors. Handle was relatively easy to fit after watching a YouTube video that helped to clarify what to do. New handle fits and works well. Only downside is that the handle is a bit taller than the original (presumably needed to allow for handle being adjustable) and this is especially noticeable because we have swapped from white to chrome finish.

I bought two of these to replace tired handles on my UPVC doors. One works fine, and the adjustable screw fittings made selecting the handle easy - no worrying about the screw positions. Installation was a little fiddly compared to other handles, as there's a second plate inside each backing plate, to allow for the hidden adjustable screw caps. I knocked a star off here because aligning those adjustable attachments with the holes, and then the fasteners between the backing plates, was very fiddly. Overall though, I fitted this handle in about 10 minutes and it looks great. The other, however, was not so great. Again, it fit the handle and lock cylinder perfectly (both doors are on a 92mm centre) and the adjustable screw fittings again worked well to align with the existing screw holes. However when I went to attach the handles, neither of the included screw fixture sizes were long enough to reach through the door. Rather annoying considering there's nothing in the description about this and you only discover it after opening the packet, removing the old handle, and doing 90% of the work of attaching the new handle, only to have to then remove the new handle and put the old one back on. This would appear to be a rather important detail It's also frustrating considering a spindle and screw fixture is included for two other sizes... would it really have been so hard to include another 50p worth of screws for 80mm doors? So yeah, measure the thickness of your door.

Good sturdy product, however the slots to take the sliding lugs were very tight, so had file the slots to make very slightly wider. Fortunately had small enough file to do this. All fitted well from then on

I will never in my life order anything from this brand again. The shipping cost was outrageous. And then they have the nerve to not refund the shipping cost. Taking advantage of consumers is criminal and the darn handle didn’t even fit after they said it was universal.
