Love the weight, look and solid 1 piece construction of this grate. It holds a presto log snuggly yet allows for a few logs on top very well. Overall, very pleased.

Longevity
It's not as heavy duty as I thought it would be. It's made with the same materials as my last one. My last one was made with thicker material and it lasted for twenty years. I've already had this one red hot in places, so it's just a matter of time.

Excellent quality
I needed a gate to hold birch logs in a fireplace as decoration. This product is pleasing aesthetically and is clearly made to be functional if used to hold a fire. It is sturdy and solid.

Steel is very thin. Don’t just go by dimensions.
It was difficult to find a replacement for the size of my fireplace. I was very upset when the product arrived at how thin the steel diameter is for this product. I can’t believe it will hold up as long as the one it is replacing that had steel twice as thick. The photos I think did not reveal how thin this product actually is. I have’t put it to test yet in fairness with a fire but the diameter of steel must be a factor in longevity.

Metal is thin compared to older racks.
This is not a bad fire place rack. But that said it is very thin, the bars to hold the loge are about half the size of the old one it is replacing. Not sure how long it will last because of that.

Not as advertised
Description states the bars are 1/2" ... they are 3/8" at best. Extremely disappointed!!
