Great value, works perfectly
Easy to set up, accurate readings, clear display. Works without third party app, can be set up in Apple Home app. Looks modern.

Doesn't work with HomeKit automations
Looks beautiful. The battery compartment is tough to open. It comes with two batteries, both almost flat (one at 4%). Leaving them for 2 hours, as suggested, made no difference. The biggest drawback is that it does not work well with HomeKit. Although they say it sends readings at 10-minute intervals, you can't rely on these showing up in Home. Also, the readings never trigger automations in HomeKit, even though you can add them as an event.

Works perfectly after software update
I’ve got 2 of these, initially they worked great but they both lost the ability to display ‘historical data’ , but, following a software update they now both work perfectly and integrate seamlessly with Apple homekit and the both apps. On my experience I would highly recommend them especially now they are at a much lower price.

Otherwise great product with a major flaw
This thermometer/hygrometer feels solid and well-made and is good quality for the price. It connects easily to the Apple Home app, and it works (almost) perfectly when the battery is charged. (It does occasionally lose contact with the Apple hub for a few minutes, but will always reconnect itself without intervention.) I have encountered no problems in getting it to trigger automations in Apple Home. The readings displayed seem accurate for temperature (I have no other point of reference to test humidity). It takes a few minutes to equilibrate when moved, but then its response time is quick. Unfortunately, it does have a significant flaw: when the battery is low and subsequently dies, you will receive no warning of this is the Apple app. And owing to the e-ink display (which requires no power to maintain), it will continue showing the last temperature and humidity reading. The display will not go blank, so a casual glance at it will give no indication that it is no longer working. There is no obvious way to notice this unless one is constantly checking the apple app; I want something I can set and forget. When I glance at it, I have no idea whether the temperature shown is actually correct without either going into the app to check it's still working (which itself is not foolproof as it does lose connection from time to time as mentioned above) or having yet another thermometer next to it for comparison. Possible solutions to this if Qingping is reading this review: 1) make the e-ink display go blank when the battery is very low, but before it dies 2) enable an alert in the Apple Home app to warn that the battery is low and needs changing 3) add the ability to connect the device to mains power 4) incorporate a small solar panel into future models If this issue could be solved, I should give it five stars.

Great device, integrates nicely with Apple home
Picture shows temperature and humidity display in Apple home app. Nicely made with easy process to link into the Apple world using Bluetooth or Threads WiFi. Threads is much preferred for reliability as it provides a mesh network exploiting all your home Threads devices.

Unreliable software but good display
I have found the Qingpong units to be unreliable. They often freeze up and need the battery removed and then put back in to wake them up. The display is good but they drain the battery fast. If they sort the software out then they would be good units.

Do not buy. Do not buy. Do not buy.
These look nice, but otherwise they’re utter crap. They’ll stop responding and completely crash after a few weeks or months. Their support was good and helped me get a replacement with no issue. However the replacement also exhibits the exact same fault. Do not buy, do not buy, do not buy.

Brilliant
Ties into Apple’s HomeKit perfectly via Thread and looks superb with excellent legibility on that display. Zero complaints here and it even comes with a spare coin cell battery! I already have the QingPing Air Monitor Lite in use in my lounge and that too has been superb. Got to love their design style on their products!

Update -- although the initial set up for this sensor was simple and it worked well, this sensor only worked for a few weeks. There are two major issues: 1) Sensor loses the bluetooth connection to AppleTV (very close to the sensor) and I've not been able to restore the connection. I tried removing the sensor and re-adding it. I also tried removing the battery and forcing a reset. Nothing worked to reconnect this to Apple HomeKit. The AppleTV is only about 2.5 feet from where this sensor is mounted. 2) The temperature does not update consistently through HomeKit even when connected. When I initially installed this including the initial successful connection to HomeKit, it was clear that the temperature was often wrong and significantly lagging on HomeKit. For example, the physical display on the sensor would display 70 degrees, but in Apple Home the temp would still be showing 77 degrees. A temp that the room had not been for hours. 3) Now the temperature displayed on the physical screen of the sensor does not even update. Using another sensor, the room is 72 degrees right now but the sensor physical display shows 82 degrees. This is a nice looking sensor. Unfortunately, it is highly unreliable and -- at least in my case -- eventually becomes completely useless.

I have 4 of these. Bought one for test as I was concerned about the reviews, it was great, battery about 5-6 months. Bought another 2, one of which has battery issues lasting 1-2 months, the other one does not have this problem. I have been using them for years and they are working properly, reporting data to my Apple HomeKit. Bought another one a few months ago hoping to replace the one with faulty battery consumption, but it arrived with the same issue, battery lasing only 1-2 months, at most. To be clear, I have tried many types of batteries vendors, there are issues with the devices itselfs. Besides that, they work properly, pretty reliable and good quality. My only main and reason for giving it such a bad rating is the battery lifetime, being so poor! Later Update: Apparently if you upgrade your HomeKit hub to use thread, the power consumption goes down considerably! Now I get 3-4+ months on each device. Previously the ones that were close would use the Bluetooth standard.
